I have a 2016 428iGC and have the connected drive subscription. Shouldn't my maps update automatically? I checked and mine shows 2016-1. Am I missing something here?

Yes, after BMW AG makes it available, you should receive Region 11 Update (Alabama, Florida, Georgia) to 2016-2. That said, I have no idea why it is not available now, as the full North America EVO 2016-2 was released 6 weeks ago.
