So I wanted to switch my chrome MPE exhaust tips for some CF/Matte black, no problems here right... until I came across this



Apparently it's been welded :/

Any soft options to overcome this situation?

The V2 had a screw fastened tip, I believe you may have the V1 of MPerformance exhaust, and in this case it seems that most people cut them off.

I've never seen a V1 in person, but based on your picture it doesn't seem to be welded all around, so maybe you can hack away at the welding point without causing too much damage....

Yeah, if its just welded in that small spot, you can probably cut through it pretty easily with a hacksaw and metal blade by hand.

Is there 2 different version of the V2?

I had the impression that the V2 was those with added supports on the oulet piping of the muffler to avoid to shred around the weld between muffler and the piping

mine have the screw on the tips but no added support on the piping
