swapped in the paint-match reflectors. Pain in the ass to remove the old 3m from the inside bumper, but we got there.

F036 Dinan Exhaust - It didn't fit

Dinan Free Flow Exhaust nightmare.
This upgrade went south. The shipping box arrived in tatters, and the mounting clamp was MIA. Sorted out the missing clamp with the vendor but dang, horrible fitment issues with the Dinan leading pipe running right into the frame, making body contact at two points. Muffler shop visit today, after more cutting and welding tips are straight and body contact resolved.

Yikes!! I know you won't be looking under the car often but I'm not digging the spot welds on the muffler either. For $1500 USD you'd expect the system not looking and fitting like it was made in some 3rd world country.

Flashed xHP stage 3 transmission tune. Livens up everything and also feels more smooth. Like it so far!

This thing on the photos costs 1500 USD!??
I would have reckoned 500 USD max, given the look and all the issues….
It is not even valved!

Why not an MPE instead or a Remus or …..

Dinan is not a popular brand in Europe and there is a good reason for that, from what I read around the forum.

Dinan did have a good rep once upon a time here in the states when Steve Dinan owned the company with dealer support. A valved BMW MPE would be a thirty minute install with no fitment issues. Hindsight being 20/20 the MPE all in with carbon tips from GetBMWParts for example would be in the price range installed if you consider the missing part hassles and extra custom fab work needed for the Dinan muffler to fit....

Are you sure you didn't receive an exhaust for a B58?

this camera is cool!

I want to find an internal security camera for my BMW. I have a cam pointing down at it, from the window, when it's parked at home. But, I really want something that is wireless for inside the car and records to the cloud for security, when it is parked out in a lot, unattended. Can't seem to find anything (other than dash cams).

Ring advertises "Ring for Cars" or something. And it comes with a (monthly fee) paid service that has some perks like "Hey Alexa, I am being pulled over" - and it will start recording to the cloud and alert any contacts you designate so that they can also watch live. I LIKE THAT.

But when you go to Ring site, you can't find anything about how to buy it. They list it - but no purchase option. Guess maybe in the future.

I think they're still working on it. Definitely a cool product that I'll be considering once it's released.

Nice job! Love mine. It was a little pricey and took some time to install but end day it was so worth it!

The welds are so ugly. It keeps me up at night thinking about how best to sand or grind them down smooth. I am under my car bi-weekly and have a name for every under panel screw I have to remove constantly. I can not bear to show photos of what the top side of the pipe looks like... Think teenager's face.

Remus never came across as a top contender for me here in the States. MPE was #1 and Dinan #2. It came down to price in the end. Dinan should have been a direct fit swap out and it was discounted in Nov 2021 with an ETA of Dec 6th. So I made the decision. Well, I didn't get everything till February and then this. So yeah...

I am dealing with Dinan currently through one of the Vendors that are on this forum. Neither the vendor nor Dinan have stepped up to resolve the issue and have been passing me around. Now they both blame UPS the shipper in this case for all the issues. Stating the part must have been damaged. I would not disagree with this possibility as the shipping box was in ruins but the exhaust "looked" okay.

I never thought about that. I am going to ask that question to Dinan. The box and packing slip indicate the correct part. However real-world experience begs the question.

I am curious now... No idea what the leading pipe looks like for the b58 but this is what the exhaust looked like before installation.

I have Exhausted my regrets with this upgrade.

Looking at the 340 Exhaust, this one seems to be more offset than the 335 version:

installed the exhaust flap module. I followed instructions and tucked it under the liner, except the part with where to hide it.. decided to secure it with Velcro tape under the seat on the upper side instead inside the liner endings where the door hinge is, in case of rain/snow. Sits well and I think it's easier to remove when going into the dealer.

Not the cleanest install, but happy to be able to control the flap on the fly using the Bc button, very functional and convenient.
For reference I previously used to keep a dedicated phone in car to control the flap using Bimmerlink but found it very annoying for daily use.

Installs under the car, plug and play, no need to take up the OBD port or have cables sticking out. Can set your valve(s) to default in whatever position you like at start up and can use the homelink (garage door) buttons to open and shut your valve(s) manually. Had it on my M2 and loved it. Hands down the best exhaust valve control solution on the market.

Yes! I've seen that one, I was supposed to get the Dinan remote but found out that even that would probably get a claim denied if any issue comes up involving the exhaust. On warranty platinum until Dec2023

Not likely you'll ever need to make a claim, and even if you do It's easily removable and reversible, doesn't leave a trace.
