That pretty much sums it up, plus they just look so damn cool. I literally see 3 series sedans and coupes on every corner, yet hardly ever come across a touring... let alone a nicely modified one with a Recaro baby seat in back! Might as well be an exotic.

My oh my...I'm in.
And by the time they come out, the platform should have some aftermarket goodies. I can easily put the Recaro baby seat from my sedan into this wagon

If only the F31 came out at the same time than the F30, and with the 335i version...
i would have gotten that in a heartbeat! Why do we like Sport Wagon so much! ?/ For the coolness of it! As opposed to what people think SUV being better/practical the wagon is that much more gooder! The fact that everyone think it's old and none of the US sheep mentality SUV population is buying the wagon: That's why Wagon is cool ! for the reverse psychology factor. And much better dynamics than CUV/SUV ... Man the Video of the F31s on the Ring, they were not holding back at all !? pushing the car to the limits... You've got good tastes Booster!

My E39 540iT will be replaced with the new F31 without a doubt.
As much as I love my E39, the M62B44 is a pain in the ass to maintain. Last edited by richb811; 05-06-2012 at 08:41 AM.. |

YES PLEASE!
While we're dreaming of N55's and diesel offerings in the US, why not dream bigger? Bring us an F31 M3! I will jump on a euro-delivery n55 F31 if they announce it for the US. I might consider a 328i, the new 4-banger is quite impressive. A few test drives would have to occur before I would take the jump... I keep flip-flopping between SAV and a Wagon, if history repeats itself, shortly after introduction BMWFS will almost be giving them away, a nice lease offer would seal the deal on a Wagon and get me to quit looking a used SAV's. I think the x1 will be too small, but the countryman all4 is nice so I dunno, we'll see... Then again, the x1 has been a best seller all over the place, so they probably won't be running any amazing lease offers for a few years...

And, here in Colorado, there is much less anti-wagon stigma. A cool euro-wagon with a ski/bike rack on top of it is kind of a "thing" here. My wife's car is a Volvo XC70, equipped thusly. Actually I like it a lot except that it handles like a marshmallow.

OK, I'd probably settle for an F31 N55 xDrive with the 8AT, as much good as I've read about that transmission. How about those chances? Maybe a little closer to zero?

same reason some guys luv redheads, blondes or brunettes. the ideal wagon is a responsible adult car. no fun, thrills, or sports appeal. as a dad u can retire in a wagon - what if that wagon is not the end all of luxuary and sport? grocery getter that can haul ass on the track - the ultimate daily driver with some extra power. Wagon's are assume'd a sleeper because of extra space.

Anyone notice how some of those prototypes have wheels from different model lines?
Eg: The black test car is a Luxury Line with Modern Line wheels! Looks awesome. |

No hate. You either get it or you don't. You are right about the space, but I like the look of a properly set up wagon better than a sedan any day. Not so with a coupe, but a coupe cannot do what a wagon can do. |
