I would absolutely love a 4 GranCoupe. Having had two e92s already I will find it hard to move into a F30 when I get married. I am not too interested in the F10 (too big for my current needs). It's just something about the way the coupe looks that gets me. All I want is an affordable BMW fastback!!!

The sleekness of the new 4er Coupe is entirely deliberate as like its bigger brother BMW see the potential for a mid-range Gran Coupe which will inherit the same ideas from the larger 6er Gran Coupe but bring it down a segment to take advantage of growing demand for Premium downsized vehicles.
Due to the flexibility of the modular matrix that underpins the whole 3er family, the car will inherit a longer wheelbase and an individually elongated roof panel to stretch the car over the regular Coupe. The Coupe itself is again seen as a formidable answer for those that want the sportiness and sleekness of the 6er but cannot stretch to the asking price that goes with it. As with all BMW's the core aspects of what makes a BMW will not be forgotten , expect a more sporting character than the already award winning F30. BMW know the customer base for the F32 and they know what drivers expect in terms of overall communication. Interestingly enough the 4er Gran Coupe will possibly be the direct challenger for the Mercedes-Benz CLA or the recent Concept Style Coupe. Although it is classed as the smaller A-Klasse. The car (if the concept is anying to go by) is actually bigger and longer than the C-Klasse. The significant aspect of a 4er Gran Coupe allows the profitability of the whole F30 family to increase with the flexibility of adding individual concepts. If you take the 6er for example the Gran Coupe also increases BMW's profitability in the high end of the premium market. The E92 is still the benchmark for this segment and the F32 will be its prime successor. Individual style , character and involving driver communication. The new 4er Coupe will arrive in early 2013.

When people stop buying them. It's not like they're creating new cars, they're just putting different configurations on the same basic chassis. The E90, E91, E92 and E93 are all the same basic car underneath the styling differences. I'm okay with there being more choices, if folks will buy a GT and a Gran Coupe, that's fine by me, provided I can still get a wagon with a manual.
I was initially against the Cayenne and don't particularly care for the Panamera, but if they allow for better 911's, Boxsters and things like the 918, and some sucker is willing to buy them, great! |

Hate the idea of a '4 series'!!! I've said it before and will keep saying it. "3 series is the essence of BMW!" It would be such a mistake for BMW to change the name of the iconic car that brought up the entire BMW company IMHO.
TEAM 3 SERIES COUPE! Lol stay true to your roots C'monn

this looks amazing... the greenhouse / fastback esp in pic #4 does remind me of an A5. That, of course, is a good thing as the A5 is freakin' beautiful car.
I do think the short overhangs and front hood line actually look better than the audi, which is amazing. BMW, not typically known for good looking cars, but i'm hoping for this one.

Looking better and better in my eyes...I can't wait!
And talk about perfect timing!! I bought my LCI E92 in August 2010...and the F32 will be revealed in Fall 2013....on sale I would guess 1st quarter of 2014...and in August after the annual minor update in 2014 I will be placing my order for my car's replacement....4 years into its life and with a window to let BMW work out any minor quirks that are not caught during testing. Thank you BMW for following my schedule and preferences! hahah But having said that....it does seem like a long wait between the F30 and the F32! |

I like the 4 series name for reasons I've stated before, but essentially it boils down to elegance and simplicity. What's easier to say...3 series coupe or 4 series? Whether I buy it or not will primarily come down to price vs. perceived value. The price increase from an e90 to an e92 is about $2,000 and that seems to be a fair markup for the value we get. But will BMW decide that since it's now a whole new series they can bump it up $4-$5,000 over the 3er? If so, I'd have a difficult time justifying that purchase in my mind and would look back to the 3er or a competitor.

To me it appears the roof line, slops, in continuous curve to rear of the trunk? If so, I'm more intrigued than ever to see a render if not the final production model.

My guess is it will be revealed at one of the spring auto shows 2013, production start july 2013, deliveries sept 2013...
Hopefully that will give it a full MY2014 cycle, not like this gimp 2012 MY for the F30. Hopefully, that will also debut whatever the engine changes are in store for the n55...

Why autumn 2013? Looks like the car is almost ready. I think spring 2013 it should be in US; ok maybe summer but not fall for sure. I mean look at it- it's been tested for half year already and in a few more months they will be done...
