I think the rear bumper is a bit awkward looking.

I was set on estoril blue but seeing that AW now I just don't know...the agony of choice

Maybe EB will be a bit less common?

Hopefully both will be at the Paris Motor Show this year so I can do a good side by side comparison

Now if they just came out with proper paddles attached to the steering column and a DCT for this car...
Honestly, I prefer wheel paddles over column, but that's just me. And as fast as the transmission is in this car, I don't think most people would even notice it's not a DCT. Except that it's smoother when you pull away from a stop.

I wonder what makes it so hard for BMW to bring the n55 over stateside on this. It seems like everyone here would prefer a high-performing version. It's not like we're asking for anything not already avail on the F30. Even if the take rate is very low, I don't see how cost is increased by having more choices.

Has it been determined the N55 won't be available on the F31 in the US? I guess if you follow history, it won't be, but I'm remaining hopeful. I'd be interested in knowing how much more it costs BMW to make both engines available? Presumably it's not as simple as dropping a wagon body on either a 328 or 335 sedan chassis, but I'm clearly no automotive engineer.

As they'll exist in Europe, and the sedan version exists already in the US (therefore approved by US law as to emissions, ...) I don't see the problem with importing them other then sales expectations...
But I'm no expert on this.

It probably will be, but just remember, chances are EB will ONLY be available for the M-Sport... (at least in the US)

I have had 5 BMW's and 4 have been Alpine White, I just can't decide which color to go with. But this WILL be my next wagon.

Most people do, because there's rarely a reason to be shifting gears while shuffle steering. If you're giving enough steering input to re-place your hands, should you really be shifting? And if you're giving <180deg of steering input, just keep your hands on the damn wheel, and the paddles will be right there.

I just drove my first N20 a few minutes ago, and was blown away by the power and torque. It's a seriously quick car, that seeming gives away little in terms of feel to the N54s I've driven. I imagine at higher speeds, eg 90-100+, the acceleration is not quite there, but at lower speeds it really goes. More than enough power, especially given the marginal tires fitted as stock. It felt every bit as quick as my Coupe.

The 8AT is pretty decent, even though it makes some bad guesses at times. My only question is whether the engine would feel as flexible thru a 6MT. I suspect it would be fine, though, because the torque peak seems pretty damn large.

I hate the off-throttle response of drive-by-wire in modern cars. No engine braking to speak of. Hopefully the 6MT are better.

You cant go wrong either way, both colors look great. But EB is exclusive to the M Sport. To me that makes it a little more special.

I like it, front and back, sides are a bit old 3 series, but the thing that stands out most is that awful shut line on the bonnet (hood). Its almost a straight line from one headlight to the other. Surely they should have incorporated the bmw 'nose' as per BMWs of old to avoid such an in your face shut line. Euw.
