Missed my deal :-/

Waiting too long on a executive demo 320i at my local dealership and they sold it!!

Aggressive Lease: $1000 dollar drive-off at $250.00/month

Looking at mostly loaners/executive demo leases at this kind of pricing... 320i and X1 models.

Anyone know of any dealerships that might have other cars with this kind of deal?

Any help would be much appreciated! Thank you!!

Please don't buy a 320i. Those things are the absolute bottom of the BMW pit.

So the exact same car as your's but with a smaller engine makes it the worst car BMW makes? Sure.. most are not optioned well, but that doesn't make them bad cars.

Haha, I saw 335 in his avatar and thought that was his F30. His F30 even has the same engine (mostly) as the one found in the 320i!

Lol. The same car? Are you out of your mind? The 320i produces 70hp and 60tq less than the N20B20 stock. If you want to start throwing shit my way, mine is closer to 300hp and 360tq on the dyno and checks every single option.

For the record, I've driven multiple 320i (because yep, service loaners ). I'd take a loaded Civic Si (or non-Si if you want the automatic) for $26,000 over the bare junk that the is the 320i STARTING at $36,000. Hell, the brand new Camry V6 is a way better option for $30,000.

The 320i is a soulless car, and is yet another example of BMW shilling out the badge to move units.

I'd really consider stepping up to the 328/330. It's a fun car to drive. Lots more power, still affordable. You won't regret it.

The OP clearly has a budget. I don't think much is to be gained by taking a giant shit on him and his car choice and the cars of many F30 forum members.

Good luck - I'm East Coast so not much help! There is a dealer in north NJ that gets a lot of the ex BMW NA Home Office cars.. forget the name but kept coming up on my searches. Tons of low mileage cars.

Try here https://www.bmwedison.com/certified-pre-owned.html - pretty good inventory.

My point is that the are many non-BMW cars that are a far better value for the money.

Let me see if I can help clear up your confusion:

Is it the same chassis code? No
Is it the same model? No
Is it the same trim? No
Is it made in Germany? No
Does it have the same options? No
Is the price the same? No
Does it look the same outside? No
Does it look the same inside? No
Does it drive the same? No

With that out of the way, you're the one who resorted to direct attacks here. It was never my intention to say MY car was better in any shape or form.

Hence my original point stands, the 320i is an awful value, and an awful excuse for a BMW. Were it not for the claimed leased deal, I wouldn't even consider it. That being said, there are better non-BMW cars out there that should be considered for even the same price (ex, Civic Si).

I flew up to Detroit to get mine and drove it back .. it was an exec turn in from NJ. The dealer up there had a handful of these with < 10k miles.

It's clean, really no concerns on going that way. They don't give them to 20 year olds. I wasn't sure on the history ... but she* left her name and address in the idrive ... and I creeped on google.

The only thing that sucks is there are holes for a front license plate.

I typically get a 320 for a loaner when my 335 is in for service. I’ve got to say I think it’s a very fun car to drive. The things that I really like are how light it feels and the steering feel. It is more fun to toss around than my 335 for sure. A 6 MT version of the 320 would make for a very fun car IMO.

Are you serious? You don't think the 320i is an F30? You do realize that a 328i is the same engine as the 320i but with a few different components and a different tuning map, right? If the 320i isn't an F30 then what is it's chassis code???

Same trim? Not sure what you mean by that, you could order a 320i with all the M-sport packages you want and you can get a 335i as a base model if you want.

Not made in Germany? Just did a quick autotrader search for a 320i. Checked the VIN (WBA8E1G37HNU16469). You know what that W as the first character means? It's country of origin is Germany.

Already went over options, you can option it anyway you please.

Does it look the same? Uhh.. yes!
Does it drive the same? Except having less power, yes!

Does it cost less? Yes! I mean... why didn't you get an M3?

You're a royal moron if you really believe that your 328i is vastly superior in every way to a 320i.

I have a 4 series Gran Coupe. You're a moron for not reading. Goodbye.

P.S. 320i models are mostly made in South Africa.

Value is somewhat subjective. Can you get "more car for your $$" with a Civic Si? I guess, but we're also comparing a small FWD Japanese (hatch back) with a RWD sedan, which if optioned correctly could be a pretty refined and rewarding drive. My outgoing 328i fell into that realm. It was ordered as a RWD 6MT car with only the Sports package and a handful of ala-carte options like heated seats. The N52 is a smooth engine, but not overly powerful, and none of the tuning options available for the current 320/328s. It had the essentials for what I would consider a good sports sedan, and nothing more. I put something like 115k on it, and enjoyed every singe mile, regardless of the fact that I could have had more "stuff" for my money with another MFR or switched to a 335.

BMW's research clearly indicated there was a market for the 320. It put the marque in reach of more customers, and more cars on the road. It's not for every buyer, but if they can get more vehicles onto the streets without diluting the brand and convert some of those owners into repeat customers, it's a good move by BMW. I've yet to see how cars like the 320 result in people thinking less of the brand.

Wrong and wrong.

OP asked about an F30 - not a 4 series.

320i can be built in either plant just like any other F30.

It's cool, just keep spewing bad info and give BMW extra money as their Marketing department has successfully pulled the wool over your eyes.

Does country of origin really matter anymore? If they're the same platform, built on the same assembly line, with the same parts, and with the same warranty and support from the MFR..

*full disclosure I haven't really researched to see if there were systemic issues with South African built cars, but knowing BMW has been building cars there for a few years, and the fact that they've had plants in other countries outside Germany successfully building cars, I assume the answer is no.
