Windshield rubber moldings
I've noticed annoying water spots on the black rubber moldings on either side of the front windshield. Is there a cleaner or coating out there that I couple apply to prevent all of the spots? The car is still very new (less than 5k mikes) and usually kept in a garage. The rubber doesn't appear to be very worn so I was surprised it spots so easily.
I'm thinking of putting some Adams Super VRT on it, but wasn't sure if there is something better out there... Thanks! |

Using Optimum Opti-Bond Rubber Dressing following a wash has done the job for me.
The spots won't be removed, but once the dressing sets in, it's back to black and you won't see any spots.

I've read some other posts on other forums where folks were able to get them replaced under warranty. I wonder if that's an option (and then seal the new ones really well).
I've also read that vinegar can help remove the spotting. |

There's always "something better," it seems! Cleaning before treating the rubber is the key, as mentioned above. The Adams product should then work fine.

Folks - I had the same issue and decided to spray paint it.
Took to my painter and he spray with some paint which still sticks well, and not cracked (after 5 months) in tropical sun. Shall monitor and see the outcome in next couple of months. |
