Hello everyone! I have a 2014 F30 with hu_entrynav (option 606 business navigation).
I bought a screen 9387453 (which is for LCI). I see a lot of people say it’s not working but some people say it should work. As I understood there should be a voltage issue. I fitted it in but the screen does not turn on (black screen and even no backlight). It does not show No signal or anything like that. I have been coding with BimmerCode. Can someone tell me exactly if the problem is with the BimmerCode (as some say esys is needed) or it definitely is the voltage and I have to look for pre-lci screen? Or maybe there is something else that I did not check yet

aliexpress doesn't have oem. ebay is generally your best bet for oem 8.8 screen.

go to realoem.com and enter in your vin and get the part # and search ebay.

aliexpress has the android screen touchscreen.

6.5" to 8.8" Screen Upgrade Help Required

Hi all, first time poster in need of help with an as far unsuccessful upgrade of the screen in my car

My car is a 2018 F23 LCI M240i, (production month is 07/2017)

VIN : VC27329

After what i thought was sufficient reserach i purchased the following donor screeen from ebay

BM 6822626 (see image below)

https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/at...1&d=1633443018

This screen is to replace the existing 6.5" screen 6550 6837128 -03 (see image below)

https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/at...1&d=1633443018

The physical swap of the screen was straighforward, with the 8.8" screen now showing "No Siganl" as expected.

I then proceeded to make what i thought were the only necessary changes in the HU using Bimmercode.

DISPLAY_SIZE_RESOLUTION : 8.8_1280x480
DISPLAY_VARIANTE : breites_display

However this didn't work, just resulted in a blank screen

Some further reading lead me to try making the following changes

CID_COLOR_DEPTH -> 18
CID_COM_MODE -> spi
CID_RESOLUTION -> 1280 x 480
CID_DISPLAY_SIZE > 8_8

However, still no joy

Reading from BimmerCode i think the Headunit is HU_NBT_EVO

Also from Bimmercode:

HMI_Version : id5
HMI_ID_Version : id6_light

Does anyone know if this screen should work in my car and can spot what if anything i'm doing wrong?

Any help much appreciated

Cheers

according to realoem, you need either one of these screens as they would've came fitted from factory for your car.

65506844126
65508709338
65508709339

No signal generally means the voltage is incorrect. Looks like you got the wrong screen, unfortunately.

Thanks for the response. If the screen can display something i.e. "No Signal" wouldn't that suggest the voltage is correct?

nope. I ran into this same problem during my upgrade - no signal message. After all my research, no signal is wrong voltage & i had to sell that screen and get the one listed from realoem that would've came fitted from factory and worked like a charm after the coding change.

Did you check your settings for CID_APIX_MODE = apix_2?

Hello, I was wondering if you could help me out. I have a 2018 F46 220i - manufacture date is 10th Feb 2018 and BimmerCode says my headunit is HU_NBT_EVO. The screen my car came with is a small display touch screen. I forgot to check the part number when I had it apart, but based on the info at realoem (https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/sho...75#65509387450) I think it is 65508798221.

I have an Andream box for Android Auto and that's working fine (touch screen does nothing in Android Auto but still works fine in iDrive).

I wanted to upgrade to an 8.8 screen, so I went for 65509387450. Physical installation was fine, but I got the 'NO SIGNAL' deal. And I'm kind of thinking that maybe I should have gone for 65506844127. But I'm a bit confused by realoem - on the page for 65506844127 (https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/par...&q=65506844127) it says that 65509387450 (the one I got) is exchangable. However, on the page for 65509387450 (https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/par...&q=65509387450) it says that 65506844127 is not exchangable.

So I am kind of lost - and I am wondering if someone could help me figure out what the correct part to get actually is.

Also, I have to say, even though there really isn't much of an F46 community, this forum has been incredibly helpful to me - so thank you all.

Did you code for the new screen with either Bimmercode or Esys?

if you coded and same issue, more than likely you need the touch screen cid and not the non.

generally, no signal means wrong voltage if it has been coded for 8.8 and this is what you get.

i'd go with touch screen cid since that is what your car originally came with.

Yeah, I coded it with Bimmercode - both HMI->DISPLAY_SIZE_RESOLUTION and EXBOX->DISPLAY_VARIANTE. Interestingly enough, when I plugged the smaller display back in, stuff appeared on the display even though I hadn't changed the coding back yet. I double checked it in BimmerCode a couple of times. All of the time, the 8.8 display just showed 'NO SIGNAL'.

OK, thanks. Do you know if there is anywhere that actually details what the voltages are, and which parts accept which voltage? As the displays aren't cheap so I don't want to get the wrong one!

I will try that for sure, I did try looking for something along those lines, but couldn't find one... Now just to find one that ships to the UK!

Thank you so much!

36 pages of reading...thanks to all contributors. I'm still confused unfortunately

I have a 2017 330e.

I believe my HU is entrynav2/enavevo (same thing I think?) rather than NBT_EVO. It's idrive6 (tiled interface). I have the business navigation and my headunit has a WLAN port etc.

My current screen is a 6.5" non-touch screen (pn: 6837128)

I was going to go with the 8.8" non-touch screen that lots of people seem to have used (pn: 6822626)

However, RealOEM says I should be looking at one of the following three (for an 'OEM' replacement anyway):

1 6844126
2 8709338
3 8709339

All of these are 8.8" touch-screen.

Reading just above on this page I'm seeing some potential voltage issues even though earlier in this thread it seems like other uses replacing with the 6822626 model seem to have got theirs working fine.

Any resources or help anyone can provide would be much appreciated. Like the poster above I thought I'd done sufficient research to conclude that the above model would work but obviously I'm an idiot.

if yours is currently non-touch, go with the non-screen 8.8.

my car came with a 6.5 non-touch and realoem said a touch screen was exchangeable - of course it wasn't as i got 'no signal'. went with non-touch that wouldve came fitted from factory and no issues.

That's what I thought but st3v3m (few posts up) has exactly the same existing screen as me and same model year/build etc., but the 6822626 didn't work for him...

And RealOEM only lists three touch-screen 8.8s!
