Back from first service...

... and all good. Specifically, the lag when first pressing the throttle has disappeared.

Any idea what else they do at an oil service? Does the throttle adaptation map get cleared, or am I just enjoying the benefits of an engine full of fresh oil? Or maybe some form of software update?

Did you lose any settings when getting it back?
If not, then you probably didn't get a software update. But they could still have wiped the adaptation I suppose.

No settings were changed, so it looks like the throttle map. Presumably they do this 'manually' (by pressing and holding the throttle), though it's worked better than when I've done that in the past.
