There is always a risk. But the risk is similar to driving a stock car.

Post logs in the log review sub. But tbh there isn’t much useful information in this log to determine but more than likely fuel quality

Apologies if I missed this somewhere but I’m preparing to purchase BM3. While reading the website I noticed it said:

“ Vehicles with November 2019+ software may require DME unlock done on the bench to enable OBD flashing. If you have the November 2019+ software update, feel free to contact support@protuningfreaks.com for details.”

I have a 18 440i GC and last had it serviced (oil change) in the winter. Just wondering how would I find out what software I’m running so I can avoid prolonged issues.

Thanks.

Open a ticket and send your software IDs to them prior to flashing or buying a license

just purchased and flashed stage 1 91 last night. I flashed from my samsung s9, using enet cable and a usb-c to ethernet adapter.

it worked perfectly, and only took about 5 minutes. a good tip is to download the map you are going to flash, and then flash it from your downloaded maps. this way, it's not using the internet to download and flash at the same time, which speeds things up a lot.

the car is so fast now (using petro canada 94). the throttle is pretty sensitive in comfort/sport/sport +. I wish the throttle was a little more gradual in comfort, starts off ok and then just launches, if you're not careful, but it's not really a big deal.

I did get my software IDs and sent them to PTF before I purchased, just to check and make sure. definitely recommend folks to do that before buying. PTF is really quick on their support tickets and get back in an hour or two, even late at night they got back to me right away.

at this point i'm not sure what gas I should run, what i can get away with etc. I assume if i run the stage 1 93 map, i should stick to petro 94, but with the 91 map, should i stick to 93+? can i get away with costco 91 from time to time?

I faced the same, the car became too hyperactive, especially in the city. The xHP tranny flash alone helps, and enabling the launch in 2nd gear in comfort is perfect for that.

I'm on the fence about xhp. I doubt I'll move past stage 1 93 with bm3. it seems pretty good the way it is. but everyone keeps saying xhp is incredible.

The shifts become a lot more firm, and you can raise your torque limits. I found on BM3 Stage 2, it would do throttle cuts in lower gears before I raised th e limits.

But, if you aren't laying into it in lower gears (and hitting limits), or want those firmer shifts, no real need to get xHP.

I have a 2018 G01, been using the b58, stage 1 bm3 tune for the 3 years I've had it. Love it. Going to trade in for the 2022 LCI version in about a month. Any info on compatibility on this updated B58? Forgive me if this has been asked before! Thank you!

Anyone running an upgraded turbo on the OTS maps? Pure800/VTT GC/etc? I know it'll run fine but wondering how much better it holds the power to redline.

According to PFT, they don't do ETAs. When it's done, they'll announce it. Until then, all we can do is wait.

Gen 1 anti-lag is up. I suspect the rest will be available very soon. Goodbye clutch.

What are the major downsides of using anti-lag?

They have released all this but haven't released a flash unlock for the DME yet? The new i-level software has been cracked, but not released… Is there talk of PTF releasing an update so we don't have to send our ECU in and lose ability to drive for 2 weeks?

It's like launching from a roll.
