Front windshield weather stripping already bad?

This is pretty bad for a car with under 3,500 miles. Will BMW fix this under warranty?

It's absolutely polish residue. You'll have a difficult time getting BMW to warranty your sloppy polish job.

It's not polish. I even tried Gummi Pflege on it and it didn't come out. Any other suggestions on how I can fix it?

It will come off with a solvent, which one I can't say for sure. I've got isopropyl alcohol, paint thinner, lacquer thinner, mineral spirits and acetone in my garage. When I've got polish residue on my rubber I go through them one at a time until I find one that works. I can't recall offhand which one I last used successfully. After getting the crap off I treat it with 'Back to Black'.

I've used a product called "Rubber Renue" to pretty good effect. You definitely want to be careful when using it. It's quite strong stuff. Products like Back to Black will not actually remove residue. It just darkens the look by adding a shiny finish to the product.

That window trim is easily removable, though, so you might want to do it with it off the car to protect the paint. It'd also be a good time to clean the area underneath.

Gummi Pflege is a rubber treatment/conditioner - not a cleaner. Glad you were able to clean it up. Often when you have wax or polish residue, applying a bit on the dried spots will allow you to remove it.
