New Tyre Help - UK

Morning. I need 4 new tyres for the GT but I'm really struggling to work out what to go for at the best price. Does anyone on here have any experience with replacing their tyres? Seems the sizes are uncommon?

225/45 19. Front.
255/40 19. Rear.

Thanks in advance.

Blackcircles.com seems to come up with plenty of choices, at lots of price ranges

Where have you been trying, for them to be uncommon ?

Everywhere.. Black circles don't have a matching pair of front and rear runflats. This is the problem.

Regular tires and some fix-a-flat foam will make you so much happier in terms of noise and ride. They will also be cheaper

I decided for 19" Dunlop Sportmaxx RT non-RFT. They are quiet and at least as comfortable (or even more) as my former 17" RFT winter tires.

OK, so i have found these on Oponeo.co.uk.

Michelin Pilot Super Sport

XL, ZR
Price per unit
£ 194
Quantity

Michelin Pilot Super Sport
255/40R19 100 Y
XL, ZR
Price per unit
£ 170
Quantity

3 questions,
Will these fit the GT, sizes are as current tyres?
Anyone bought from Oponeo?

Answers to your questions, in order :
1. You're overthinking it. A tyre size is a tyre size. Every 255/40R19 is EXACTLY the same size as every other 255/40R19. So of course they will fit, as they are the same sizes as the tyres you've currently got on.
2. I've never used them. But they get a decent rating off trustpilot : https://uk.trustpilot.com/review/www.oponeo.co.uk 8.7/10
3. Fitting will be extra on that price ? Will you get that done yourself ?

Now, those tyres aren't runflats. Whereas you ARE currently on runflats. Do you want to change that, or not ?

Finally. Price. I have a philosophy on tyres : buy the best you can. They are all that keeps you from meeting the landscape - or a coffin.

Yup, they're difficult to get. Problem is that the 335DGT tyres have a higher load rating than the standard tyres (99 instead of 92 from memory). When I had a puncture last year there were no tyres anywhere in the UK. I had a BMW loaner for a week while they flew in a tyre from Germany. The reason it took a week is that Contil had no stock in their warehouses so had to wait for one off the production line.

Thanks for the replies, and I was almost certainly over thinking it!

Order placed for the MPSS tyres.

For future reference, I have used them and they delivered with a good price - would use them again if the price was right.
