F36 440i GC XDrive 19" and 20"

Will this combo work without rubbing on stock M Sport suspension?

Front: 8.5x19 ET35 235/40R19
Rear: 9.5x19 ET35 275/35R19

Could I run 20's by decreasing the aspect ratio by 5 on both front and rear?

235/35/19, 275/30/19, would work better on an x-drive since both are 25.5". if you are not lowered, your wheel gap will increase .25" more than what you have now, something to think about.

if you run 20's, 235/35/20 and 275/30/20 are both 26.5" (again same diameter is best for x-drive). it will also fill some wheel gap.
What about Front: 8.5x19 ET35 235/40R19 Rear: 9.5x19 ET35 275/35R19

Looks like the last option is best: 0% ratio for Xdrive and fill wheel gap. I don't plan to lower as the car is a lease.

Now, if I go from OEM 19 to this 20 setup, the aspect ratios go from 3.5" down to 3.2". Am I going to "feel" a big change with that 0.3" delta? Will pot holes destroy me more?

see @wdeerfield's car in the link below. 9.5" +35 rear would poke 10mm further out.

wdeerfield's car is not a F36. F36 has different fitment. You can actually have 15-20mm of spacer width to play with at back with OEM 255, from what I've read on different forums.

id do 235/265 combo with et35 front and rear for your GC. could theoretically get away with an et30 up front if you wanted very flush.

yes mine is an f30 and i didnt plan to lower so i went et45 out back. i could have fit et35-40 without issue but at stock height it would look like its poking. Since the F36 gives more room out back like the F32 you can do et35

And, on second thought, I actually found both of your replies uninformative. You mentioned a bunch of sizes yet my initial size question remains unanswered:

"Will Front: 8.5x19 ET35 235/40R19 Rear: 9.5x19 ET35 275/35R19 work on F36?" This combo gives +0.8% diameter difference... good for XDrive spec and fills the wheel well. But does it rub? LOL

The guy pointed me to a 3-series. Different car. Different fitment.

BTW, "you're are?"

What I edited in my original post was the question regarding 20s. Not the sizes for 19.

BTW, "you're are?"
Except you can clearly see the edited post vs the quoted post beneath with the difference in 19 sizes. Also, thank you for correcting me on my minor grammar mistake. I'm sure you feel a sense of accomplishment and superiority in doing so. Enjoy your time on the forum.

not square... 265 cannot fit a 8.5

i was referring to et35 if you were going 8.5 f and 9.5 rear.

I used the term "square" loosely referring to the ET35 being for both front and rear.
I'll mention the suggestions to my dad! Thanks again.

Living in Toronto I would think 20 inch wheels would be problematic for damage. I would go 19" max. but the choice is yours.
