4 equal tires with M tires

good morning.
right now I have wheels 400M, 8.0 front with 225, and 8.5 rear with 255.

Has anyone tried to put 245/40/18 on all 4 tires?

Will I lose a lot of traction?
will I gain direction?

you will gain turn in and they will fit just fine so long as you are not xdrive. You still wont be able to rotate around the car though since the rim width and offset front to rear is still different.

consider changing just the fronts only from 225/45/18 to 245/40/18

and leave the rear at 255/40/18

Do you lose a lot of traction or rear grip?
Someone has tried?

a 255 is wider than 245. why would you lose rear grip?

i run 245/40/18, 255/40/18 on my aftermarket wheels. going from 225 to 245 in front will increase front grip and reduce understeer thus a higher speed can be carried through a turn.

I explained it badly. I mean if with 245 I will notice less traction than with 255 in the back

255 will be less traction than 245 but many people run 245 square setup. so you'll be fine.
