Closest place to idrive controller to tap KCAN-2?

Hello.

I'm currently retrofitting an idrive touch controller and module, and my F31's factory idrive controller is on KCAN-1. Besides the back of the NBT HU, where's the closest place to the idrive controller and module, that I can get the two KCAN-2 wires taped to?

Thank you very much.

(It's my first retrofit involving cutting and soldering wiring so disregard the silliness of the question )

Here you can choose one.

I think the base plate should be the nearest.

Thank you very much for your help!

By coincidence, a few days ago I removed the cradle because I had no use for it. I had one thing different from the tutorial that I followed: I only had one plug like red ellipse number 1 on picture 1 (tutorial unplugged two). The white plastic support is there for two plugs (removed in picture), but I only had one. I'm saying this because I cannot find any yellow/red and yellow/brown twisted wires (KCAN2) in the base plate area. Is my wiring different? The cradle is red rectangle number 2 in picture 1, and red rectangle number 3 is the detail of the plug on the cradle. Red rectangle number 4 is where red rectangle number 3 connects to, in the car. Red rectangle number 3 has 4 wires but red rectangle number 4 only has 2.

If I don't have KCAN2 lines on the base plate, can I use for example the gear shift stick like on picture 2? Are those blue/white and yellow/white twisted wires, KCAN2 lines?

Thank you.

EDIT:

I found the schematics: those are KCAN2 lines.

So now I have a doubt:
If my tap develops electromagnetic interference of some sort due to my vastly extense experience in wiring :P , is there a chance of the auto gearbox malfunctioning during normal driving? For example: can the auto gearbox receive a signal to go into reverse, when going 90 (kph or mph - irrelevant), and actually engaging the gears?

Thank you.

No, these are PT-CAN2 lines.
So don't use it.
Next device should now be the headunit.

Ah got it... I was too excited looking at the CAN2 part...
NBT HU it is then. Yesterday I noticed that the pins (9 and 11) already have wires connected to them. Can I use newtis.info to find out where those wires end up? Maybe I can connect closer to the idrive controller, instead of the back of the NBT HU.

Thank you very much.

Yes, you can use newtis.info to find out the end.
I think the KCAN2 wires go from the headunit to the FEM.
