Are you using any piggyback tune like JB4 or some flash tune that's clearing the code for you and not making it show up on the dash? You should not be seeing that code it the CAT was doing its job. More likely a CAT failure or you just got a bad unit. At the price you paid, AA needs to sort it out for you.

Garage List
I can attest to the fact that my AA hi flow catted DP I bought from Mike at XPH when it 1st came out has NEVER had a smell and has never thrown a CEL and my car has passed Emissions Insp here in PA every yr with no problems even with all the mods I have listed

It may be possible the cat failed for some reason like Mike stated, but idk what you would look for or how to check?

Possible something went wrong (or was bad from beginning) with the special coating applied to the element

I had mine professionally installed along with TS diverter valve, ER TIC, and AWE exhaust plus a boost leak check and all was perfect.

Im totally happy with the AA, also have their FMIC and have used their products on other BMWs I have owned

They are a reputable company with many yrs of BMW experience - butnhey, these are made by humans and shit happens sometimes...

No tune on the car at all. I would not have known there was a code until i plugged in a code reader. The CEL wasn't on and I have nothing installed that would suppress it. No O2 spacer either.

I've been loving how my car sounds and have gotten many compliments on it after installing the company. I feel like it spools faster as well. I agree many seem to be running it with no issues. This may just be a fluke, and to be clear I don't exactly know what is wrong yet as I have not been able to contact AA. To those thinking of buying this downpipe - don't let my experience kill your decision. But if you would like to wait and see how my issue gets resolved, I will be updating the thread. Mike has been great and helped with whatever I needed

My bad, it seems like this kinda issue shows up as a code as you experienced and not as a CEL. But yeah it again suggests CAT failure. you should not be seeing it, this will prevent you from passing emissions too.

800 Active B58 downpipes sold and running without any issues.

If you get a CEL, which is very rare (i would say less than 1%), Active will replace the pipe
