Thank you for your reply; any particular reason why the square setup recommendation?
I would like to keep the (Uniroyal RainSport 3) 255/35R20 for Back as they are new - do you think they are too tall and I might get some rubbing? Thanks, Axell Last edited by axell_2000; 10-28-2016 at 04:44 AM.. |

Just a general recommendation to use square tires on square wheels to be able to rotate front to rear.
If your car is RWD you can use 245 front and 255 rear, I can't guarantee that the 255/35-20 tire is rub free with ET33 though. |

slightly tougher look without compromise
Hi!
I'm considering to install on my F31(efficient dynamics=I drive gentle): Front: 19x8 ET30 Tire: 225/40 Rear: 19x8.5 ET38 Tire: 255/35 Any issues I should look out for? Like rubbing when heavy loaded? Could I have ET33 rear without any worries? Or should I have a "square" set to be able to rotate? Like this: 19x8,5 ET33 Tire: 255/35 Thank you for your help. Peter |

Asking for Advice
Hello everybody,
Can get some help/ advice with my F32 wheel setup, I wish to have 20" rims but I also wish to have a comfortable ride as I use the car daily. I was thinking the following setup ZITO XLS 8,5X20 5/120 ET35 CB74,1 (+center ring 72,6) 9,5X20 5/120 ET45 CB72,6 Tires: F 255/35/20 R 275/35/20 Would this setup get any tire rubbing or will the 35 tire profile rub the wheelhouse? I know most go with 30% back, but I’m a bit afraid it will get too uncomfortable for my taste. I have done the math and the difference in circumference and diameter will be F: +4%/ 26.8mm R: +5.94%/39.3mm (so if I’m calculating right the back wheel will be 19,65mm closer to the wheel house) and I know recommendations is to not go over 5% but I’m fine with that. The M Competitions package for example have the following setup and I think it still have plenty of wheel gap 265/30/20 285/30/20 (see the pictures below) My Car have no other modifications, M-sport stock suspension, (10mm lower than standard) and the original wheel specs are 8,0x18 ET34 + 8,5x18 ET47 225/45/18 + 255/40/18 Thanks in advance for any help on the matter and sorry for the long post. |

In that case will have to consider going down to 19", How about this Setup, 19" Zito ZS05 8,5x19" ET35 10x19" ET40 (Wheelfit is selling them as set) And then wrap'em with: 245/40/19 285/35/19 Calculaction: Circumference and diameter +2.86%/+18.9mm +3.16%/+20.9mm Thanks in Advance |

245/40-19 up front with 8.5x19" ET35 wheels will fit fine!
But 285/35-19 on 10x19" ET40 is too aggressive. Those rear wheels are 26mm more aggressive than OEM, and added to that tires that are more than 3% taller than stock. That rear setup will most certainly rub. |

So I am looking to mount a winter setup with 18x8 square with ET34. Can anyone confirm this will clear brakes/fit on a 2016 340i xdrive with M sport + adaptive M suspension + track handling?
What would be the best tire size for these wheels , 225/45R18 or 245/45R18? Also does anyone know the correct lug size.. 12x1.5mm or 14x1.5mm? thanks! |

The wheels will clear the brakes if they are OEM BMW designed for F30. Not all aftermarket 18" wheels clears the M Sport brakes though.
Regarding tire sizes, there are a few options. I would recommend 225/45, 235/45 or 245/45. The wider tires give more sidewall and wheel protection, the narrower sizes give (at least theoretically) better performance in deep snow. F30 uses M14x1.25 wheel bolts. |

I am looking at doing a square 18" set, but still not sure about wheel dimensions. This is the most informative thread I have found on the whole topic, so I am hoping you can help. Thanks. |

But lower offset will give more room for the calipers. So an aftermarket 8x18" ET30 wheel will more likely clear the M Sport brakes than a similar 8x18" wheel with ET40. The spoke design, or actually the inside of the spokes, and how the inside of the rim is design is at least as important as offset. So when shopping for aftermarket 18" wheels for a car with M Sport or M Performance brakes it's good to either find someone else already using the wheels with upgraded brakes or find a shop that let you test fit before buying. |

On the BMW page it shows these wheels as working when i select my car, but it doesn't ask about the M-Sport Brakes,, which scares me.
Link to shopbmwusa: http://www.shopbmwusa.com/PRODUCT/37...-TIRE-ASSEMBLY link to reconditioned: http://www.need-a-wheel.com/rim-shop...-silver-71542/ I am worried about the rears being a 47 offset, but these only being 34. Granted the wheel is .5 inches narrow which = ~12mm of offset, but I am still leary. Anyone have the 396's on 3-series M-Sport brakes? |
