2016 340i dyno numbers by BMS
https://www.instagram.com/p/-wn2Mhst_C/
Holy crap, 331WHP and 339WTQ stock? Da fuq? With JB4 it increased it to 380/380 At the wheels which is ridiculous with just a tune. |

I wouldn't pay so much attention to the actual values, but instead to the deltas between stock and tuned. All dynos are calibrated from a default setting, and DynoJets' defaults seem to show higher numbers than other chassis dynos.
41 Ft/Lbs. is a nice bump. Knowing Burger, they will continue to develop it. |

If you can find the numbers to a F30 335i (preferably 2015) run on that same dyno stock, then maybe a rough comparison can be done, but still Eric's words ring true.

When I test drove the two (335i/340i).. I knew the butt dyno wasn't lying! Glad I landed on the 340i! Love this car!
Still want to see what a 335i puts down on their dyno though for apples/apples. |

BMS stock run with N55 335i is 290HP/315TQ on their dyno. So, if they're getting 331/339 with the stock B58 (assuming same dyno), that's awesome.

Looks like the 340i is stronger than an MPPK equipped 335/435i too.

Yeah, I definitely noticed more power when test driving the 340i ("stock") vs. 335i (dealer had one w/ MPPK too) and 435i GC ("stock"). Not surprised by the dyno numbers, just happy to have my suspicions confirmed. The car has been a blast to drive so far, not sure if I'll get the itch to tune it anytime soon. First mod is Michelin PSS.... and more gas.

I've only had my 340 for 2 days and haven't revved beyond 4.5K but even with that there is subjectively a marked increase in power compared with my outgoing 2013 335 so not surprised the 340 is very under rated. Additionally there is zero perceptible turbo lag compared to a slight lag on the 335. Plus it gets > 30mpg on the highway. It really is an incredible engine. So happy.

Don't lose sight of the fact that the stock boost on the N55 is relatively low. Curious about what the factory has dialed in on the B58. Incremental increases in boost will yield pretty significant results.
