4 or 6 cyl diesel
Guys in a few years ill be retiring, once my 320i reaches 100k i want to get a diesel BMW, something i can get 200k on if maintained properly. I want your honest opinion between the 4cyl and the 6 cyl. Do you think the 6cyl will be more durable.....

For the 6 cylinder, you need to step up to a 535d or x5d. My impression is that either engine and the associated emissions system are equally reliable. 200K is a slam dunk (especially for the diesel engines) for any BMW engine. On earlier models with the M57 engine and emissions systems, the emissions system is the limiting factor; most fail by 100K miles and need need expensive repairs. |
