Citation for loud exhaust

Have any of you been pulled over and received a citation for loud exhaust? In CA you're supposed to bring it to a testing center to confirm it is within limits. In that scenario I would just have it in comfort mode during testing so it should be fine. They say it is tested under specific conditions so I'm assuming not during cold start? I was firing off some gunshots this morning and wanted to know in case I get a citation how they test it.

This is Increasingly becoming the norm in Laguna Beach. While driving through Laguna Niguel, I saw a mobile sign alerting drivers that a loud exhaust will attract a fine.

I was in court and another person had gotten a citation for modified exhaust and a bunch of other stuff like tinted windows and no front plate. I would think the mppsk isn't a modified exhaust as you can get it port installed and it's made by bmw. The cop seemed like he was just out to get this guy for as much as he could.

I wouldn’t worry about it if you have a MPE or MPPSK you can just have the dealer verify it’s oem and have CHP sign it off. If you get cited to see the REF they actually have decent knowledge with oem and aftermarket parts.
