E85 with JB4?
Newbie question here, trying to see if i can squeeze any worthy power gains from my (already maxed out?) set up. I am currently running JB4, intake, catless downpipe. I usually run map 2, 3 or 5 but noticed map 2 is probably the smoothest and most linear. Is there a map which supports partial E85 (say if I want to throw in 2-3 gallons)? And if so, is this reccommended/worth it? I have not heard of anyone doing this when I searched.

The challenge with e85 and a piggyback tune without a back end flash is it lowers the overall power of the fuel. This means that while it raises octane it can result in an overall lower boost target due to fuel trims. People have had some success with limited amounts of E85 though.

I tried running a couple gallons mixed with the rest 93 and tried Map 5. It did seem a bit smoother and slightly more powerful than Map 3 on straight 93, but it could have just been in my head.

Map 3 and 5 are the same both boost +6psi and map 5 probably makes 1-2* more timing if even that lol. Some cars have throttle closures some don't, but it seems like the catless dp b58's have the throttle closure more. You can just run map 3 and wait for the back-end flash coming out some time "early 2019" and hope you can safely run more E85. Dump in 2 gallons of e85 and enjoy the car as is.

Probably other tuners have, but MHD is making one strictly for JB4 users and Terry/BMS will make different maps most likely to go with the back-end flash.

I like MHD on the N54 so looking forward to it. Wonder what the price point will be

Terry said whatever the license cost is. $79 or something? Updated maps will be free of course.

The real benefit of MHD is local custom tuning. Sure, it'll be new for a bit, but an experienced tuner should be fine. Tunes are relatively cheap, cars/engines aren't.

No, they charge $79 for the BEF license and then current JB4 owners get the maps for free through BMS. Read through this MHD user guide for the N54.
http://mhdtuning.com/downloads/MHD%2...ER%20GUIDE.pdf This is why I was patiently waiting for MHD. (To spend $79 vs an $1100 Mission tune) But now, with the gains I'm seeing on the Stage 2+ ECU and Stage 2 TCU, I'm rapidly losing patience with MHD.

I spoke to Terry about the BEF through email. I would wait.... trust me. Mission Performance has finally stepped up their game and the gains look great, but JB4 is not too far behind with a BEF.
