My broken brake cable clip was staring me in the face tonight and I have a spare but didn't have the energy to do it. Those billet ones look nice. Note the orange zip ties holding my brake cables off the driveshaft lol

I poly pushed my diff tonight. Last night it was ARM midpipe

Damn you going all out with the GC track build! That's a dream for me but it's my daily driver haha. Been awesome to see the progress you've had from pre turbo to now.

During a DIY rod bearing replacement (the oil pan was the real issue) and many, many more DIY projects this February and now March, I hand-cleaned every bit of the chassis.

The top clip pushes further back into the fuel take groove further than you would expect; a silicon lubricant (WD-40) will be your friend. Once seated, you will feel it. It's a nice solid "this isn't going anywhere" feeling.

If you do not seat it far enough, the bottom portion of the clip will drive you mad, making you wonder how this will ever clear.

I would lightly liberate all metal surfaces of the clip, mount it, and then wipe it clean with acetone or denatured alcohol on a towel so the oil doesn't collect dirt and debris.

Job done!

You have definitely inspired me to put my car up on the quickjacks and pull the belly pans down to do an undercarriage cleaning. Seems to be one of the most neglected task for most in detailing their cars.

Thanks mine started off as a sensible daily driver but then I changed jobs and got promoted and they gave me a mazda cx5 and a gas card. Things quickly got out of hand with the bmw from that point lol

The groundhog said no more winter tires, right? So much better on the 19's and summer rubber. Today, road trip to Philly and back. Next week, lip and side splitters?

Tried to install the burger motorsports oil catch can today. For the life of me I could not find an orientation that would fit the bendy pipe. It kept popping upwards due to the shape it had been in.

Not sure if it’s me or just the piping they send but not happy with it and will try to return it. Obviously I cut up the pipe but come on it’s brand new lol

If not, then expect it for sale soon

Had an ongoing coolant leak that I finally got to the bottom of.

I replaced the mechanical water pump, engine coolant connecting branch, and the Oil Filter Housing in 2 separate jobs. After reviewing the existing OFH at 89k mi, I daresay it looked fine, but I'm no expert so I'm happy to have had it replaced for the trouble anyways. The connecting branch seemed to be the culprit in this instance as I imagine leaks don't go up and then down.

I have the R3, you won't be disappointed. All you need now is a visor clip, keeps it out of sight without compromising function..

Yeah I just chucked it up there late last night when amazon dropped it off.

Not a permanent location. Any link for the visit clip?

I've seen the mirror mounts but they are a bit pricey

Got a low coolant warning on my way to work this morning. Had to replace my coolant reservoir cap as it was bad. The plastic lip that holds the o-ring on basically disintegrated. Went to the dealer to have them do a pressure test just to be safe and no other leaks were found. B58 problems! Fun stuff!
