I would make them aware that I am active user on all leading BMW UK forums with more than 0.5 million BMW enthusiasts.

I would make them aware that will be using all available resources to me to damage their reputation (that particular branch) - Twitter , Instagram , Forum websites

I would send an email out to BMW HQ immediately and cc sales person , his manager , manager of his manager.... - and mention what I have said above...

I would reject the car (if you had exhausted other options)

Then I would run DDOS attack against their email server - or just SPAM sales person email address

That would be me. Don't bend over just because you believe this car is the best car money can get. You are making them a favor - not other way around.

Do NOT start slandering them or even threaten it. You will instantly make life a lot more difficult. Only take to social media and naming / shaming once its all done and outcome not what you wanted.

Once you say you will do this and that, they will switch off to all your requests etc.. Could even take legal action against you if they wanted for slander and potential loss of sales.

Unfortunately as this is a case of "he said, she said" and not much in writing or before and after photo's, you are unfortunately relying on the dealer accepting the liability without proof.

The salesman has already stated in his email (Only bit of written evidence you have) that they agreed to fix the dent to the best of their ability. Which they will claim they have done.

Good luck and above all, stay calm.

I never knew there's two spellings of the word principle/principal! Illerate is a bit harsh though, especially as you obviously don't know how to use punctuation correctly!

Nothing wrong with my punctuation. If you're suggesting there should be a comma after "them" there could be but it isn't necessary.

Be interested to see how Slickk got on with his phone call this morning.
Hope after a good nights sleep, the dealership can realize they are in the wrong.

Ring a dent wizard and ask if they have the glue gun option. That's how he did mine on rear quarter he didn't want to strip the door cards out.

They will come give a free quite it's about 60 to 90.

The dent is on the rear quarter panel on the passenger side. The mobile dent specialist came and tried to repair it through the wheel-arch but he couldn't do. He then removed the boot lining and tried to resolve the matter through there but he could only partially gain access, which is why he suggested that I take it back to BMW.

Don't get me wrong, it's not a huge dent, but it's noticeable. Either way, it wasn't done by me so that's the issue at hand here.
What Smee mean is they have a method where they can stick a little mushroom thing to the panel and then use the puller to pull them out.

Hindsight's a wonderful thing but given the way the salesman's behaved it would have probably been better to refuse to take delivery until they'd sorted the problem to your satisfaction!

However, when you're dealing with a main agent you expect them to do what they say and it sounds like they just haven't delivered. The salesman back-tracking is poor in the extreme but you'd like to think his superiors would then sort it out quickly; after all, what sort of Sales Manager or Dealer Principal thinks someone would pay for a car in full without the promise that a dent inflicted after the sale was agreed would be rectified properly?

Disappointing it's spoilt what should have been a pleasant purchasing experience but hopefully common sense will prevail at the dealership and it will soon be sorted!

ETA: Just seen your subsequent post and it sounds like common sense is indeed prevailing; fingers crossed for you!

BMW will arrange for the vehicle to be collected, repaired and delivered back to me.

She will be in contact with me tomorrow after she's spoken with the Sales Executive. So it's looking good at the minute, let's hope he doesn't throw a spanner in the works.

I'll keep you posted guys!
And a like for like courtesy car?

Car looks very nice and glad you sorted it. You Sir have done the right thing and got the correct result. Rightly or wrongly, I'd have old him to 'go forth and multiply' and left the keys on his desk - rejected. Poor service and poor attitude is inexcusable. Glad your sorted👍

Pleased to hear things are looking better for you. I'd echo the comments made about paintless dent removal, new Macan S, less the 200 miles on the clock returned from the main dealer with two small dents in the top of the rear off side door. Dealer took responsibility but offered a fill and respray - well thanks, its less than a week old ! Dent Rewind in Tunbridge Wells fixed it in half an hour for less than £100 !

Glad to hear that the manager / principal has taken the route of common sense and is playing ball. They now have a good opportunity I think to put this right and regain your confidence.

For what it will cost them to fix this it seems to be a no brainier. Far better to placate the customer and put things right surely (as long as the complaint is warranted and they are in the wrong which clearly is the case here) than get into a bun fight which may then lead to reputational damage if the incident finds its way onto social media or via poor feedback through the questionnaire system.

All I've got to do, it drop my car off at some point next week and they'll have it sorted within a day.

What a brilliant start to the weekend! Thanks for all your views/advice/opinions - very much obliged.

I will post pictures of the car and the mods I have in mind once it's all sorted.
Good to hear! They should have really done this without you having to lean on anyone but from the sounds of it the General Manager has sorted it quite quickly once they've got involved so fair play to them!

Enjoy the car when you finally get it back!
