If you're talking about the nub on the left there's supposed to be a vacuum line there. You can see it on alohasurftoad's pic. That's for AT cars though. You have an MT, so you don't have that line and the nub needs to be plugged (at least that's how it is for the N55s). The MT charge pipes don't have that nub.

Oh well their was no option for manual or auto on the ftp and it came with no cover :/ guess I'll have to figure it out. Irritating. Should have just spent the extra money on the ER

FTP charge pipe comes with the plug for that hole along with a very small worm clamp. Install that and you are set.

Yeah it was missing out of the box so I just took the rubber piece off the bottom of a metal folding chair and used a pipe clamp to secure it on, temporary fix till I can find something more suitable. Could actually leave it cause it's thick and fits nicely but I want to find something better than that lol

I'm going to get these FTP Pipes for my car. Do you think it's possible to remove the FTP name plates? Are they just glued on? I just want a clean black pipe without the metal name plates. Has anyone tried to take them off?

Yeah I'd say it's possible but you wont be able to just peel it off with your fingers, It'll probably take a screwdriver or something of the sort. I thought about it as well but didnt want to risk scratching the pipe.

I just messaged FTP in Taiwan, they said they can ship the pipes without the name plate and serial plate. But, they wouldn't warranty it without the plates. That's fine with me, I haven't read anything from anyone saying they had a problem with these pipes. It should be a lot less obvious without the plates when I do get a smog check.

I just ordered my charge pipes from FTP in Taiwan. https://www.ftpmotorsport.com.tw/ . I included a note not to install the nameplate or serial plate badges. I know there are shops here that sell them, but getting it direct from the factory I can have them not put on those badges. DHL shipping to California is $50 and should take 2 to 3 days. I can't wait.

I wonder if they would put the badges underneath so that it's still warrantied but not visible during an inspection?

Dang, I never thought of that. I wish I seen this yesterday. I ordered my pipes already, they'll be here tomorrow. Already on the way from Taiwan. DHL Express is FAST!

But I'm sure they can put the badges anywhere you want, if you order direct from the factory in Taiwan. Just leave a message in the comments section when you order from their website.

They shipped my pipes same day I ordered, yesterday, so requesting they delete the badges didn't add any additional time between order and shipment, FAST.

Guys. Heat the stickers with a hair dryer or heat gun and everything will come off. Easy.

Got my pipes today from FTP in Taiwan, took only 2 days via DHL express. Shipping was $50 but it was worth it. Pipes are excellent quality and they came without the badges attached as I requested. $400 shipped for both inlet and outlet pipes.

Also I wish I knew it came with new gaskets and C clips installed in the pipes. I bought the gaskets from BMW yesterday for $50. Probably can't return them cause they special ordered the gaskets that go to the throttle body and turbo. If anyone needs gaskets let me know.

Ahh ok, why'd you do that? Is there a problem with the FTP rings? I have all the stock BMW rings, top and bottom of the pipes. Are the BMW ones better?

Although the BMW o-rings are delicate, I felt it would give a better seal. I'm not sure if the ftp ones are better or worse since I didnt use them.

Be sure to orient the BMW o-rings properly if you use them.

I got a free shipping code for FTP:

FTP002

I got mine in about 5 days, 2 of those being stuck in customs.

Mahalo Braddah Surftoad. I just had my pipes installed and I went with the FTP O rings since they were already installed. And hopefully I can return the BMW ones.

There was no issues installing the FTP pipes and the mechanic said it was easier than he expected, but it did take them about 2 1/2 hours to install both pipes.

They look really nice and they look pretty much stock, I don't think it will raise any red flags with the smog people.

As for performance, I like to think it's faster and smoother. But honestly I can't say. I do know the pipes are solid and the quality is awesome. There really is no need to buy more expensive pipes unless you really like the look.

The bottom inlet pipe is hard to see but it's down there.

I also just ordered a CSF intercooler and ER Catted down pipe. Should have that next week. Can't wait.

And the reason I got mine in just 2 days is I paid $50 extra for the DHL Priority shipping.

As far as I know the only gain is peace of mind. The stock charge pipes are plastic and can break or crack. If you're going to up your boost then you want charge pipes that won't blow, break, or crack under increased boost.

Another gain with the FTP charge pipes would be that both intercooler inlet and outlet pipe is included for $350. Other brands cost $350 for just the outlet pipe to the throttle body.

Also, all the gaskets and new clamps are included and pre-installed in the pipes, those gaskets cost $50 from BMW, not sure how much the C clamps cost.

These pipes fit perfectly, no issues at all. The best value for your money and they will last forever. I'm just stoked, I saved a bunch of money and these are real deal quality pipes.

Is this confirmed to work?? If it just took some heat wouldn’t they eventually peel off in the engine bay? I thought maybe heat gun/hair dryer and using a flathead screw driver to gently scrape off just don’t want to damage.
