HELP!! Which car would you pick from these?

Hey guys. Im from Queens NY

Im about to go crazy i cant seem to decide which car to get

2016-2017 BMW M4 convertible
2018 Audi S5 convertible
2017 Mercedes AMG C43 convertible

which car for looks?
Which car for performance?
Which car to pick up the most chicks?

So far im leaning towards the BMW because it has a hardtop.

Which one would you pick and why? Or would you recommend a car within those 50-65k price ranges.

Thanks guys

Go to the M section of the foums...to get real world advice from current and previous owners.

I personally really like what Audi is doing with their new lineup...the interior is easily best in class.

Bad place to ask. Everyone is gonna suggest the M4

Hard top convertibles are sexy.

Looks agree.

Performance hard top convertible is major downside, beyond the convertible compromise.

Chicks - wanna know a secret? 99% of them can't tell the difference between an M4 and a 430 and even if they can they generally don't give a fuck. They see the badge, that the car's new-ish, and that's all that matters. If a car is the reason a woman is polishing your knob, it's time to find another woman.

While Audi has technlogical and interior advantage, performancewise it cannot be compared to the BMW in this class, not even to 440i, not to mention M4.

The Mercedes might be best for picking up chicks, if the chicks you are after are 60+.

Personally don't care for hardtop convertibles. The mechanism is more complex and more expensive to fix, it is also heavier and adds unnecessary weight to the car and it eats up trunk space like no tomorrow. I also like the visual of a soft top better.

The trunk space on a 4 series is great. You have almost the same space top up or down.

If "almost" is the same as "half" I can agree. A work colleague bought a 428i convertible a while ago and I got a chance to take a very close look at it then. I am not saying that it's not a good looking car or that there is no trunk space but the folded top most definitely reduces trunk space in a noticeable manner. This may not matter to the owner but it still remains a fact to be considered in the decision to buy a vehicle.

Judging by the OPs requirements don't think trunk space is very high on the decision matrix.

2017 M4 would be my pick for looks & performance. Never needed a car to get a girl so can't comment on the part.

I have a 430. The whole back of the car lifts up. On my Volvo, only the top lifted up a few inches. On this car, with the exception of small area around the top,all the area under the top is available. I don’t know about earlier models. For a hardtop, the space is quite large. Not half. I’d say 80%. The whole trunk assembly lifts up. Then you fill it and lower the assembly on top.

One more category....which car to stay out of service departments and not suffer awful warranty/factory support we had when needed? Forget the Audi. I won't share our 2016 horror story, but take a word of advice. Never again.

Looks? Totally subjective.

Performance? Define performance...how it feels, stopwatch times, pure acceleration or handling as well? I'd still take the BMW, just as I have twice recently.

Chicks? Any of them who decide about a guy based on his car are essentially a public utility. You'd take less personal risk licking the center pole on the M train after the morning rush. Find the girl who likes you before she knows what you drive.

I prefer the hard-top because there is more glass and a better field of vision. Are there any features you want that are not available on some of the choices? For me, the M4 having a manual transmission makes that the obvious choice. You might have other priorities.

M4 and this is coming from someone who bought his first BMW 2 weeks ago and I LOVE s5's. The real equivalent performance wise to the m4 is the RS5. Otherwise the m4 is just going to run laps around it.

Yeah performance-wise the M4 is a pretty big step above the S5 and C43. Prices reflect that as well. I'd rather have a slightly used M4 (since it's LCI anyway) over a new S5 or a C43 for sure.

One thing to note is that the M4 is far sportier. The S5 and C43 are more similar to a 440i M sport with some M performance bits. They have a more compliant ride. The M4 is going to be more of a true sports car.

Depends on where you live. In Southern California, you'd be surprised how many people know what an M car is. Also, good girls are attracted to nice cars too. Everyone's a little materialistic. There's nothing wrong with using a nice car to attract girls.

Almost everyone is attracted to nice cars. But, when he talks about "picking up chicks", it's not for pleasant conversation. When a cool car is the key that opens that lock, the last cool car was probably just a day or a block away.
