My sock purchase thread from Amazon

I thought you'd all be really interested in the new socks I've just ordered from Amazon.

I understand that they're being packaged up later today and will be shipped for delivery tomorrow. I'm really excited - just one more sleep until they arrive. Perhaps I'll go over to the warehouse and see which van they get put onto. Anyone else have any tips about telling which van they might be on?

I got a really good deal as they're the same price as I could get them in John Lewis, but this way I get time to post a whole load of stuff about it because I just know you all really want to know what I've just done.

I thought I might share some pics once they've arrived, especially after I've given them to my 10 year old daughter to sew some buttons and shiny shit on to make them look really bad.

They are just going to look so great - I just can't wait

Have you contacted the Amazon Genius to get the codes and checked the delivery company website?

Did you spec any options? Reinforced cushioning at the heel or the heated functionality?

And of course....

Amazon Genius (aka Alexa) got fed up of me asking and turned off the lights in the house off and locked all the doors. I think it got annoyed.

I went for blue and white stripe, but will probably dye them black at some point, or have them dipped in aluminum. Might be a bit scratchy, but that may help with the Gangrene.

Will certainly post pics when I get

Special order, or dealer stock ?

Is the seller going to come to your house and do a grand unveiling ?

I can't believe you ordered them today. There's a new model out next week - basically the same but darned a little differently around the heel. That's the sock you should have bought.

Definitely going to VT at the halfway point. I'm sure if I pay 50% I can send them back. Not sure if they'll charge extra for the extra wear and tear, but I'm hoping not. I have my rights anyway.

Fuck it - I pulled the trigger too early. At least I went with the one with the big end.

Get them detailed and put on something to help them bead when you go out in the rain.

You should have gone to TRL. Only £1200 a month more but you'd be part of the IT crowd.

Are you going to “mod” them? I’ve spent thousands on carbon accessories which I’m going to have to take off when I try to sell them?

Stripes are the wrong choice, traction will be hopeless and you won't even make it off tiled floors. Should have bought xPattern, you'd remain upright and in control even running down a bobsleigh track.

What other socks did you test?

How did they compare?

Did you get a 48hr extended test in them?

I saw these on Ebay I think - but they were Euro42 and not sure they would be compatible with our UK washing machine? Anyone do a conversion?
