Wooow, like to hear some more info. So you’ve installed the ARM version of Windows 10 and apparently E-sys and ISTA just work on that? Which versions did you use? Any things else to note?

I already kind of accepted that this wasn’t going to work for at least the near future, but this is promising.

I installed the windows insider ARM version onto parallels using a normal windows 10 key. After having to manually set all of the windows folder permissions everything worked as expected. The windows for ARM emulates x86 built in like mac os emulates x86 mac apps on Apple Silicon. Once everything is setup I can not tell the difference between my windows coding laptop and the mac VM. I think 16gb of RAM is a must if anyone is buying a M1 macbook for this. 512GB is fine for mac os, the windows VM and the coding files but if you want the full daten for flashing you will need a 1TB SSD.

How did you get past activating e-sys? I know if you use VMWare you have to add the SBIOS line but I'm not sure what you need to do for Parallels.

Hey Nickco43 - I'm trying to get this working on my laptop as well, but running into issues with making esys launcher believe it isn't running on a VM. Can you share how you worked around that?

I'm also very interested in this. I am trying to get my M1 Pro setup at the moment. I have Windows ARM installed, but any time I try to run ISTA it seems to result in a fault code for kernelbase.dll and the ISTAGUI.exe fails crashes.

I ended up up using parallels and a default Windows 11 install. So far no issues with ISTA on a M1 Air. Working on trying to get E-Sys running once I get an installer.

I managed to get it all running in the end. Everything related to ISTA appears to be working fine. Haven't had a need for E-sys just yet, but it did install fine.

The main thing was to ensure that .net was enabled and that the emulation subsystem was enabled. once that was done, everything went smoothly.

Does anyone actually have an E-Sys launcher working on their M1-A64 Win11 VM using Parallels? I have E-Sys 3.27.1 installed, just not having any luck with Launcher PRO v2.8.2_162b (it fails to launch E-Sys).

Any other alternatives?

Which ISTA version did you use? (and what source?)

I'm also stuck at the licensing screen. It doesn't display any key, and there doesn't seem to be any way to enter the key (which I assume is normal for this screen, blocks me from going any further).
