F30 330D rwd downpipe removal advice

Good morning.

I’m looking for some advice/tips on removing the OEM DPF/Downpipe.

I’ve got a few questions before I get stuck in and break things I may not need to touch.
1. Will the downpipe come out in one go no cutting?
2. Are the sensors best removed from downpipe or left on but electrically disconnected?
3. Does the engine need to lifted?
4. Any tips/advice most welcome.

Cheers

I have done downpipe on my 430D
It is shit to remove 🙈 there are no space, we took of some of the engine bolt (I don't know the name on English I am from Denmark) so the engine were lift a little bit.
Downpipe came of in one part, because of the lack of space it is easy 😊
Hope you understand what I have written 🙈

Not yet. Hadn’t sorted out the mapping but now that Unicorn offer a remote tuning system, I’ll be doing this sooner rather than later.

It's not overly hard job just messy. Lots of things to disconnect and remove. You will need a ramp otherwise it's a nightmare

Disconnect all EGT and Lambda probes. Try doing it while exhaust is hot cause it's easier but careful not to burn yourself.

Remove belly pan, remove all downpipe bolts, support the engine and remove right hand lower engine mount. Then you'll have enough room to wiggle it out. You might need to play with the engine height a bit to get it out smoothly

I assume you're aware that this is an instant MOT fail in the UK.

You can't disguise a missing DPF. The MOT inspector will spot it (being absent) straight away.

Apologies Watsey, I must have missed the notification at the time. I’m not really chasing numbers just more noise and grunt really. I haven’t fitted the downpipe or remapped it yet.
