What is the difference in all these maps? Premium - Next - Route?

Currently with a 2016 340i with the

111152.3.212
Road Map NORTH AMERICA EVO
2016-1

I'd like to update it to the 2017 North America, just not sure what the process is and what the difference between all of them are?

Different car Head Unit Hardware (e.g. CIC, NBT, etc.) run different Map Types such as:

606 Business Navigation;

HU CHAMP = MOVE Map
CIC-MID = MOTION Map
HU_ENTRYNAV = ROUTE Map

609 Professional Navigation:

CIC - PREMIUM Map
NBT - NEXT Map
NBT2 - EVO Map

You have NBT2 Head Unit, and run EVO Map. Unlike all other maps, EVO gets 4 releases per year, and latest is 2016-2.

2016-3 and 2016-4 EVO still have to come before 2017-1 does.

No. There is no MOVE 2017 release yet.
