So: for the sake of being consistent with updates, I did go to the strip tonight. I wasn't expecting better times than what I'd gotten previously as nothing on the car has changed, I just went to have fun, and run my buddy's B8.5 APR Stage 1 Audi S4. The DA was 2000 so terrible conditions... Best of the night was 13.605 @ 98.63mph (so no changes to the board), a long ways away from my previous best of 13.088 @ 101.79. I blame it almost entirely on the miserable conditions. The S4 was undeniably the quicker car, pulling pretty strong on me after the 1/8 mile, and winning both races wherein we both had clean runs (his car is a 6MT, so it took him a practice pass the dial himself and the car in). All in all, my times were awful, but it was fun, and figured I should update for the hell of it. He got some cool GoPro footage from in his car that I might post later

Nice, not a bad run at all, assuming the car is stock. Can you provide the info on the board so I can add you to it? Year, RWD/AWD, transmission, mods, fuel etc?

Sure! I have a 2015 228i N26 Auto. Running a full tank of 91, catless VRSF downpipe with a K&N drop in filter and no tune. Ran with a passenger in the car and all of my fishing stuff in the trunk + foldable lawn chair lol. Running the runflats that came on the car with little tread. Shame I didn't know the rules which didn't allow me to run again. Apparently I need a helmet if I run under 14s which I doubted the car could do.

Considering all the extra weight, I'd say that's a very solid run for an un-tuned car. I'd imagine you could shave a tenth or two off the ET without the extra couple hundred pounds slowing you down, and you could shave off even more with a tune to match that downpipe

Just a thought, but you could probably get rid of the "Stage" category and just continue to include that in the "tune" category. Maybe us the "stage" category for the DA.

Just curious, how many of you are doing weight reduction as well?
Removing seats, trunk carpets, and extra trim, only 1/4 tank of fuel etc? |

Hopefully I'll be running again this Saturday with an empty car, though I won't be pulling seats or anything. Hopefully the shitty DA doesn't completely negate any time I shave from the weight.

I always run on a 1/4 tank or less, but that's the only "weight reduction" I do.

Sidenote: give PTF's new 8AT transmission flash a try. I'm hoping it will shave a bit of time off. Presumably it will if the shifts are any quicker, but I have yet to flash it.

I'm about 1hr40min north of sac. on weds for fun run its $20. Saturday is test and tune for $50. you do need a Snell helmet if you run faster than 14s but they dont really check for Snell approved helmets but better safe than sorry. Also long pants required.
