Hi everyone,

I wanted to share what I've found. There is *a lot* about upgrading screen on EntryNav but not so much when it comes to EntryNav2.

I decided to take a punt and buy an 8.8" screen from eBay and follow the same principles as the EntryNav in terms of Hardware:

- Remove boot/trunk lining to driver side (I'm F31 so there is no convenient panel)
- Disconnect the Battery Negative Terminal
- Tie a rage in the boot/trunk catch just in case some external factor causes it to close
- remove just the top part of the passenger side trim with a trim removal tool (the bit housing the 2 central air vents) - this is all a "snap in" part
- you can unplug the switches and set the trim aside, or leave it dangling.... I did the latter as there is only 2 screws to deal with.
- Undo the 2 T20 screws and lift out the screen - you may need to move the wire to give you some slack
- once lifted out, turn the screen around and remove the connector
- Place a cloth over your dash to protect your shiny new screen
- Lay the screen face down on the cloth and insert the connector.
- Pick up the screen, turn it around, and insert it into the retaining recesses
- re insert and tighten up the 2 T20 screws
- relocate the trim piece that you removed (insert the switch connectors if you removed them!)
- reconnect up the battery negative terminal
- replace the boot/trunk trim
- Insert your ObD2 connector and power on the car, but not the engine!

You will notice at this point that your new screen does not power on.

- Open up your app of choice and locate the HU_NBT_EVO section (I used BIMMERCODE so this was just Headunit > Expert Mode)
- change the following 3 parameters:
i) 3001 EXBOX > DISPLAY_VARIANTE = breites_display
ii) 3005 APIX_CID > CID_DISPLAY_SIZE = 8.8
iii) 3005 APIX_CID > CID_DISPLAY_RES = 1280x480

- Submit/commit the code change (in BimmerCode go back to HU_NBT_EVO screen where it lists the 3000 codes and tap code)
- wait for it to submit the changes and reboot the ECU.
- watch your new screen come to life in all its 8.8" glory
- Enjoy

The installation and coding is fairly simple, so I got from start to end in no time, and ended up only with a picture of the 6.5" screen before I started and the 8.8" screen after I had finished.

BEFORE - 6.5" Screen

AFTER - 8.8" Screen

Full install took about 20-25 minutes.

Congratulations!
I know that NBT Evo and EntryNav2 are using Apix2 displays with lower voltage (~9v) while rest HU using Apix1 displays with higher voltage (~11v).
They are no interchangeable, so did you buy Evo 8.8 screen or Apix1 8.8 and cable with voltage transformator?

The honest answer is that I don't actually know. I have a 2019 F31 so I bought an 8.8" screen from a 2019 vehicle.

Incidentally it was a touch model too, so I have also been able to code that in as well!

I’ve seen somewhere that touch is not supported on Entrynav2, what you say is opposite. Good news!

Do you know exact screen part number that you have bought? (8.8 with touch)
Thanks in advance,
