What music / song brings out the best from Harman Kardon

Ok, I still have a couple months to wait for my car.

However looking forward to getting some sounds on it, i have spec'd it with M sport + and pro media, so I get HK.

Anyhow, what do you think brings out the best from HK while driving about?

Dancey / Housey / Funky...anything with a decent bass line really. IMO of course!

I absolutely love my HK!!! Will DEFINITELY have it on my next car(s)...

A lot of tracks by Hans Zimmer do the trick. I haven't yet received my car but Hans Zimmer Soundtracks make the attached set up sound frickin awesome!

New house mate, I had the option of spending about 4 grand on a sound system or decorating the new house!!!

There wasn't an option in my eyes! Can't say the Mrs was very happy though! :-P

Haha I lost, we ended up with wallpaper, to May years in MQ's was her reasoning.

Yeah 'thems' lol

When I was doing my tests drives, I took a USB stick with me, mix of songs and made sure I had a drive in one with HK.

Loved the deepness of the sounds.

I didn't really have a good listen to be honest, I just know I want the best possible speakers as standard so wasn't really an option not to get them. When do you take delivery? What you order?

I have paid deposit and waiting for build date. My current car 320d tourer is leased from BMW, and due back in June.

I have however arranged for it to go back in May, so 2nd week in May is target date. Just such long bloody wait!

Oh and went for 330d ( in my signature)

330d will be my next car I think, my budget doesn't quite stretch that far just yet!

Back on subject, I also find acoustic music brings out the clarity of speakers and amplifiers quite well, someone like 'Boyce Avenue' does countless acoustic covers of quite a few popular tracks.

I have played the same songs through USB, iPod and iPhone 5 and the sounds not as good.

Any thoughts?

Well yes it will, pretty much all formats for playing in car are compressed or reduced bit rate.

That's the Garrison Duty Officers briefcase when on duty, a very tatty and unloved briefcase indeed!

Yeah I've had it a few months now and it's finally bedded in. Sounding very good and managed to hammer down Richer Sounds to give an incredible discount. If you ever need to put together a good set up give me a shout, been an audiophile for too long to care!

The only format I know that is clearer to run is Airplay as if you use uncompressed digital music the signal is sent straight to whatever amplifier it is you are using and skips any such meddling from the iPhone. That said the HK system isn't designed to be a masterpiece (for if it would it would be A LOT more expensive) so the difference between a HQ digital track on a USB, iPhone or whatever else it won't really reveal a large, if any, difference to CD.

As a rocker I can confirm that Metallica black album is excellent on HK but ACDC black ice album sounds crisp (rock and roll dream is crystal clear)
