Purchased the OEM 2022 NA Map Update USB from Tischer - made sure to inquire b4 ordering if it was the correct version for my system.

I have done many updates b4 in the past with no problems, but for some reason this time, I plug USB into armrest port, it comes up with usual message that map is more recent version than version installed, click on Start, and then normally goes right to the screen to type in my FSC code, but this time it goes to a screen that states:

'Please connect the USB device 1 to start the update' with no other option but cancel out of the update???

WTF, the USB device is already connected

Tried in both the glovebox & armrest port & get same result

Contacted Tischer & he suggested I take the car to BMW dealer & have it checked & if USB is bad they will give me a warranty replacement

1st off the nearest dealer is 1hr away, & they want to charge for the labor regardless...

Anyone else ever see this error & have a solution??

I DO have an Awron Gauge which can be bypassed in the settings, but never had to do this b4 for a Nav update & that applies to the OBD port/system not the USB
