Sorry no, I'm not interested in the LCI climate control panel, just the pre-LCI would do since the car now has the ugly basic one with no led display.

But thanks, I'm pretty sure the pre-LCI panel wouldn't work either, and whole retrofit is just a tad too much work (and money) for just to have a nicer control panel since I have no use for the dual-zone climate control.

Sorry, I missed that detail.

No idea on single zone to dual zone.

Beyond the scope of this thread.

Would suggest that you start new topic and ask as it would get more visibility than buried here.

This just came to mind.

Changing from a 2012-2013 build date to a 07/14 build date would mean the vehicle has EWG from PWG.

Is this a concern that needs to be addressed?

Some photos make it appear the AC/Heat Control unit is a nightmare to get to way up behind the glovebox and Dashboard.

Others make it look simple....pop the lower right dashboard trim covering and it’s right there.

Which is correct?

I just do not remember where it actually is from when I had my dash off.

I do not think it will be an issue since you will only be using this modfied FA file to install the IHKA3 (CAFD and potentially BTLD and SWFL files if they need to be updated). Please do not write this modified FA to your vehicle.

For my 435iX, I removed the glovebox. Without doing so, I do not know if you can actually reach the IHKA/IHKA3 module and wiring harness.

Maybe not 100% ontopic but I have an issue with my IHKA3:

Car is from 03/14 but IHKA3 was already there. So I retrofitted LCI HVAC and everything was working properly. I tested all functions / buttons for 2 mins and then turned the panel off.
Afterwards I coded IHKA3 with „Fatbumschlag“ to get the color change from white to amber. After coding the panel turned on, everything is still working but I cant switch it off anymore. I can go to lowest ventilation setting and if I keep pressing the lower / off button further nothing happens.

Anybody has an idea what went wrong? Coding was done with e-sys, VCM readout first and the only value changed was „Farbumschlag“ before FDL coding it

What you experienced is normal. Just start your vehicle, let it run for a few minutes and you will be able to shutoff the fan. IHKA3 just needs to reinitialize/recalibrate after VO and FDL coding.

Look in witch of them you have on pin 10 orange/green and in pin 11 green, those are CAN wires, and need to be changed on CAN 2

I used the kcan2 cable from idrive touch, that is directly connected to quadlock kcan2 pin

esys does not see the ecu.

It is 11pm in Ottawa at the moment. Will check tomorrow AM.

Update Mar 25th:

This AM I ran Rheingold and measured the Ventilation and Footwell Sensor temperatures and captured screen shots with the vehicle cold and warmed up. Please refer to attached pdf file.

I can confirm the IHKA3 does read the temperature sensors, as evidenced with the change in temperatures between cold and warmed up.

It would appear the IHKA3 retrofit works properly....

Hi Drimacus,

Take a look at this post from IK6SPEED (step 6).

So for some one who's interested in doing this mod ,
What are the final procedures ?
Would have loved a YouTube vid but I think that's asking to much.

Great work guys .

Quick question where are you sourcing your 3 modules from ?

Thanks

Just one question,

If you went to Dealer for service or maintenance, will there be major problems if they recode your vehicle ??

I just run the final test, and YES, everything is working.
Did you confirm the AC is working? I performed the retrofit a couple months ago and the panel is working correctly, A/C LED stopped blinking an everything. No errors in ISTA either, however, now I don't think the AC is actually working. Finally warmed up a bit around here and I had the AC on but noticed it was still getting warm in the car. Clicked the max AC button and noticed the air blowing was not very cold...

Yes is working, I don’t remember exactly where, in FEM or in IHKA3 , there is a parameter regarding compresor start (compressor_kuplung) or something like this. You will need to find that parameter and play with it. Or code IHKA3 with original car product date and after that with LCI date, and compare them. You will see what parameter need to change.
