Audi f*cking pre sense

What a load of fucking shyte, driving round a bend and some old maude was walking on the pavement, the fucking car must’ve thought I was going to clobber her Vice City style, it did an emergency stop which nearly resulted in 2 tonne of Mitsubishi Warrior careering into my arse end.

Stupid car taking over and I’d only had 2 pints of Stella.

Damn! Ma could spill coffee like that!

Turn it off before any more beverages or your rear ended are out at risk

Maybe the car knew better than you? You were 2 pints down after all...

If I was going to hit her I’m sure the kids would’ve made me aware!

I think this kind of system is better suited to stop start traffic and motorways. Basically anywhere where there is sudden braking and some knob might want to crash for cash. Otherwise, I keep my BMW one off due to the false alarms. Perhaps the Mercedes one is better. I am sure there was some kind of test of it on YouTube somewhere.

At least it arguably has a nicer dashboard plastic than a F30 in places.

I’m not sure how to put it but it has almost jewel like qualities.

As we are on an F30 forum I won't say that it's not until you get rid of an F30 that you realise it's built with sticky tape and recycled plant pots.

Not gonna say that at all, nope.

I totally agree. The collision warning goes nuts on the f30 sometimes when I'm turning and there is a pedestrian in front or as I sweep past traffic islands, a few times I thought thank god the car doesn't intervene in the breaking unless I initiate it, definitely could cause an accident.

As it's a VAG I assume it's similar to the one in the wife's Skoda fabia. That is dangerous and has slammed the brakes on me once mid corner as it decided the car going round the corner in front was too close.

My new Volvo has no end of automous stuff including pedestrian and large animal detection so will be interesting to see how long that lasts before getting switched off.

Aren't these only suitable for highway use where you can easily, safely take control and NOT recommended for city streets or curvy roads?

It's not self-driving. It's cruise control.

I think many of us accept this but we also accept circumstances. I couldn't have afforded a similar spec'd / fast 5 series so made do with what I could get.

HAHA Absolutely this! Three or four times now this has happened to me. Every single time I am aware of the 'danger' and suitably driving before suddenly the chime comes in, the brakes pump and if you come off the accelerator it starts braking for you! Ridiculous. Although it did make me giggle at one point as my wife was applying her lipstick in the passenger seat and you can guess the rest...

I looked to see if you could turn it off but seems not. I hate the thing but I guess there might, one day, be a time where it comes in handy!

Imagine if you were on a track day with a marshall on every bend, you’d never have to take your foot off the gas!

i think you can adjust some sensitivity in some sub menu somewhere. I like mine, reduced my insurance quote from LV from 900+ to 550 notes
