It's HERE, BMW FINALLY has an iDrive update for NBT

I will post a screenshot in a couple of hours to show my iPhone weirdness. This didn't start with this update, been going on forever. Was hoping this update would fix it.

The worst part about this is that iOS 7/8.1.2 worked perfectly with some versions of NBT, before.

I suspect your issue is the same as Feng's. You probably don't have this feature enabled in your car. I would guess that your iDrive is not presenting itself to your phone as a device that is MAP compatible. Thus the phone doesn't present any options like Notifications in the profile.

I have a March 2014 build car and it tells me the firmware on the USB is incompatible.
Called BMW and the only thing they suggested was to try another flash drive.

Side note; friend of mine had his car updated (firmware of the NBT) and it looks like they made some changes to the Navi section, new icons, little better IMO

I am confused. My car build is OCT 12, but it won't install matching year update. I put Mar 14 update, and it says it is the newest update. I installed it and it works.

installed the update yesterday in my April 2014 build 335. iphone 6 with 8.1.2 works great over bluetooth. Album art is fine and search works as expected as well. to be fair, it worked before the update too.

Nov '13 build 320i with pro nav, extended BT and apps..

Current software:
MN-002.033.002
TN-002.034.001

Neither update works. The pre Mar 14 build says i'm already up to date and the post Mar 14 update says incompatible.

I believe you can update the software if you ask your dealer to update the firmware for your NBT.

is your car a Munich or SA build? if the door decal shows 3/14 it should be NBT_G

you aren't "SOL". get your cars i-step level updated by your dealer. many dealers will cooperate with owners.

I'm guessing with a Jan 2013 build running 5021 there's absolutely no point in me wasting my time trying the 5062 update then :-(

Very frustrating. I'd lived in hope of an update so that i can use my contacts list in my iPhone without my very expensive navigation system thinking the UK addresses are in the Netherlands.

Has your car been in for service? If so, they may have applied a higher istep level. Check the Nav version in your iDrive. If its NBT_G or higher you should be able to apply this update.

BTW, I highly doubt this BT update will do anything for your address detection issue.

Will try the other one tomorrow, just to test.

updated to latest software. fixed the music issues ie would not play reliably via BT or the USB cable after updating to ios8. Now things are back to normal.

My is a F31 from 05/2014 and I had the:
MN-002.038.015
TN-002.038.015

After the upgrade changed to:
MN-002.039.062
TN-002.039.060

My I-Step is the NBT_G

Haven't yet tried to stream music from iPhone since I now have some kind of problem with the phone's Bluetooth. First it didn't start, I reseted the phone and know if just won't find any device. The car, other phones or a bluetooth speakers. I will restore everything and try again.

UPD05062 worked on my car, even if it's a 2012 build.
I guess it's because my I-step is NBT-G?

I upgraded my car to the latest Nov 2014 i-step yesterday, this took my i-Drive firmware from version B to I. Upgrading the i-step allowed me to install this latest patch. Album art etc... now working as expected. i-Drive now has a few different icons and generally feels smoother.

YESSSSSSS!!!!!

Spotify works, Pandora works both connected via USB and Bluetooth, no track sticking.

I have an iPhone 6 with IOS/8 and it works perfectly. No more horrid Connected Drive interface.

It's about time, but my Christmas came 2 days early!
