How to update iDrive to the new interface ?

I am saying there will never be an official ID4++ to ID5 update because of hardware limitations.

I have a 2015 M4 ( north america ), would the idrive be able to upgrade to the current 2016 or 2017 tile appearance?
the function organization and naming of the tiles seems more intuitive in the 2016/2017 version. set home address etc.

Not without new head unit. IDrive4 on HU_NBT cannot be updated to IDrive5.

How do I check to see which interface I presently have? I have a 2016 340.

ID4++ on 2GB Hu-nbt2. You would have tiles if you had new interface.

I am wondering that ID5 is the newest. 'Cuz I heard some rumors that ID6 is released.

And I saw the firmware was different from NBT. But no further news to discover.....

Both are out; neither can run on NBT.
