Won't run as efficiently and you run the chance of damaging your cat.

Exactly. You can melt that puppy! lol

Stick with Stage 1. If you're wanting to hit Stage 2, get a high flow cat (Catless preferred, but catted works) and a FMIC. VRSF is a good choice if you're looking for some cheaper, but still good quality parts.

anything extra needed for pwg?
I'll have one up in the coming weeks, but it'll be with the big turbo. I'll try to do a pull on a Stage 2 map to give you an idea. And nothing extra for PWG. They are going to have PWG and EWG specific maps here soon.

Sorry if I missed it but..
Are there difference in tunes between N20 and N26?

Wondering for people that have N26 and went stage two...would assume you HAVE to replace mid-pipe as it has extra cat, in addition to aftermarket downpipe vs. N20 where you can just get a downpipe and go.

Yesterday I purchased bm3 and was my activation code like normal. I made sure I had Java 8 and no other versions installed. I downloaded obd agent and went to the car with my laptop. Plugged in the e net cable from car to pc put car in acc position. Then opened up bm3.net and one agent. It connected and I entered my activation code. Then I went to ots maps and there was only 1, as if it was pre picked...

I can't search any other maps, it's the only one. Albeit probably the one I would choose. In my maps I just have the stock tune.

I tried to get the ots map but it keeps saying "failed acquiring ots map" has this happened to anyone else? I have a ticket open but it could be awhile.

No difference between the two engines. Only difference is PWG vs. EWG, which should be released soon. As for the midpipe, the second cat is not very restrictive, so you don't have to. I did replace mine with the AWE midpipe in order to get the resonator.

Good to hear. Was it specific to you or a server issue?

Burbles are being adjusted. Wait for the sliders in the next week or two.

Wasn't the server or anything to do with connecting to bm3. It just so happened that my dme software version was new to them and they had to add support for it. I think it's a fairly quick process because once they started working on it it felt like only 1 or 2 hours later that support was added and I could get the ots map.

So for anyone wondering if you get ots map acquiring failure, DO open a ticket and they will take care of it. Dzenan at bm3 told me they don't have support for all n20s so they add it as the software versions come in unlike s55s where they have all that stuff already.

My misfire issues were fixed! They adjusted a map for me then bundled everything into an OTS map. I'm not sure if it's the same Stage 2 93 Octane map others get now but car pulls strong without issues. Cold start still has long crank along with a smell but otherwise everything is okay.

Ah! I should've known that lol. Same thing happened with IssaF32 except he had to wait like 3 weeks

I've been away from the forums for some time and am trying to come up to speed rapidly on Bootmod3 and have a few very basic questions before I take the plunge:
1- Is there a summary somewhere of the changes in the OTS maps vs. standard tune?
2- Does the flash remove any E-sys coding previously performed?

Thanks,
Shawn

Doubt they will release any detailed changes. Most of the changes right now are just fine tuning the maps so they run properly. Keep in mind this software is new still and has to iron out the kinks. As for ESys. No.

Hello All,

New to the forums. I purchased a used 228i last winter. So far just got rid of the muffler and put an Oil Catch Can on. Will likely splurge on an aftermarket intake for the whoooosh, and also bootmod 3 and OTS tune . Used this form to help me do e-sys coding, it was a blast!
