Since I'm getting a lot of messages about it... Threw a video up of the new PWG burbles.

PWG burbles now available OTS in the V4 stage 2 updates.

Feedback: Burbles sound great. I know some people may not like an excessive about of burbles... i think the PTF did a nice job. Comfort the burbles are almost none existent (similar to stock setup), sport and sport + they come alive. Free revving in neutral and driving under 4k they are very very mild... just a touch more then stock. Above 4k (specifically between 4-6k) they bang and pop pretty nicely, I wouldn't say they are overly obnoxious. If you want to be civilized, they are easily controllable if you aren't revving like an asshole.

I flashed PWG Stage 1 V4 and have no burbles still. Is this a Stage 2 only update?

Shoot, well I've requested a v4 map with whatever burble is possible but if it's still work in progress I'll have to be patient. Sick setup on your car btw, it sounds awesome and wheels look great

*** OBD Agent Installer Update ***

Some Windows users encountered an issue yesterday that indicated reading of vehicle ID was not working. It had to do with the new agent installer. The really awesome Windows operating system locks down file permissions even for the folder where the app is installed Installer has now been updated and we've also moved it off of Dropbox onto our own servers in order for the auto-update feature to be functional. If you have it already we'd strongly suggest downloading and reinstalling it from here:

http://www.bootmod3.net/downloads/

Windows installs the OBD Agent under C:\Program Files(x86)\bootmod3 by default. It now behaves as any other app in Windows or macOS and can be installed/uninstalled using the conventional ways other software is done.

P.S. macOS is a wonderful thing and you can run Windows on it too just fine, if you have to..

Burbles....

How would you like em? For the OTS maps PTF will have to compromise between all of our wishes in the different driving modes (unless they put in an army of toggle switches). Here is my input.

Below would apply to both revving at a stand still and on the over-run.

EcoPro - Stock
Comfort - Stock
Sport - Burbles
Sport+ - Burbles - Gun shot on WOT upshifts
Traction - Stock - Gun shot on WOT upshifts
DSC off - Burbles - Gun shot on WOT upshifts

Toggle switches are the way to go. For example, I drive mostly in Sport mode but I'm not a fan of the gunshot.

I'm all for toggles on a burble style per mode basis.

You don't like a good bang during WOT up-shifts? I think its epic! All the parking lot poser burbles I could easily live without

Let me explain bang on shift.

First, it has nothing to do with burble. It's the DV directing air from intake manifold to turbine within the short time of rev match on gear shift to maintain correct intake pressure, or simply, match boost. There is no ignition, unlike burble.

DCT cars typically have better sounding bang on shift (more aggressively and more crispy) because it shifts quicker so DV moves air/boost quicker.

I have zero interest in burble mod with M2, which burbles nicely right out of box and already a little crazy with m performance exhaust. I think gunshot and so called 'GTS burble' are overdone and sometimes retarded on the street. PTF should do a "M2 OEM burble" for other cars IMO.

In many occasions I even think burble is not wanted at all with my car when it roars nicely already. I just enjoy the wailing scream at 5-7k and bang on shift that follows.

Right where you flash the map.. there is a Red Button that Says Online Recode if I remember correctly. It takes roughly 40 seconds and you are set.

We have to get a downpipe to have burbles? None on stage 1?

Also, what happens if we put it on stage 2 on stock Cat? Burn them up?

I too would like an M2/MPPK OEM burble option. Not interested in any more than that. Looking forward to the slider option, so we can all be happy with our own personal tastes. I’ll probably run no burble on Comfort, and M2/MPPK burble on Sport/Sport+.

100% thank you
I'm on stock exhaust and our bang is amazing, its funny no DCT in X4 M40i but i <3 the upshift and let-off noise it makes stock.

Ah you guys and your granny tranny's

On a side note I rode with this guy in his F80 with catless DP recently and I thought his car farted on every upshift. Wasn't a fan of that sound.

Probably not for street and daily, but on the track its great. After a corner into a straight, you can just hear when I'm going through the gears.
