TPMS Malfunction on Winter Set :(
My first thread ever, so let me know if I'm in the wrong place of if this has been answered before.
I have a 2019 440i xdrive gran coupe msport. I recently purchased a used aftermarket winter wheel/tire set with TPMS sensors installed from a person that used them as a winter set on a 2014 435i. I mounted the wheels on my car yesterday, went to the idrive settings to reset the TPMS sensors and drove off, everything seemed fine until I noticed that it would not go past 49% and then a message that says "TPM MALFUNCTION" popped up. All four tires look grey in the display. I tried again and the same thing happened. My questions are, Am I doing something wrong? Do 2014 4 series have different sensors than 2019? Do I have to buy new sensors? Thanks for the help! |

2014/2015 was frequency changeover. Take them to a tire shop and have them scan the frequency to see if they are compatible with your car.
But they’re five years old so you might as well buy new ones that you know work. |
