You will need to buy a connector from BMW to plug the wire in then locate this in a safe place. Job done. The connector stops the car throwing up a fault. Part No. 18302411427 This post tells you how as well........ https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...0i+exhaust+mod Last edited by Alscoob; 07-02-2021 at 03:39 AM.. |

I agree, on a standard car they should just both be open anyway IMO.

Yes other than a S4 Avant I cannot see anything that tickles my fancy to swap. Within price and comparing apples to apples, obviously. The 40i really is a cracking car in any body style, especially in MPPSK form.

BUT I've looked around and can't find anything to replace it with Golf R Mk8 with 19" wheels, non leather option , Dyn Chassis control and upgraded sound system is £45K hahahahah A new 440i is £50K plus and doesn't have GC boot yet, the 440i GC doesn't look good The new 340i is nice but doesn't have the boot space like a 440i GC and I don't want a 340i touring Even looked at the new VW T6.1 and that with DSG and not much else is £45K plus VAT |

The only car I'd realistically consider moving to right now is the M340i Touring, but I just can't help but feel it's a step backwards in looks. (and I think they're still too expensive) Dealer was trying to get me into a new M440i and laughed a lot when I said no, because they're hideous.

It might be just the engine lump but the 4 series feels lower and bigger. More premium in lots of ways. I personally think the GC has the same boot space as the touring and doesn't look like another 3 series with a long boot I totally get the touring, put the dog in the boot which you can't really in a GC but it wasn't for me Even when I look at the new Golf GTI, Clubsport or R I think every time I put my mountain bike in the back I might have to remove the parcel shelf. In the GC it goes up with the trail lift and it automatic. I know its small details but all adds up and when putting a mountain bike in the boot 3 times a week is a big thing |

Its a bit too good of an all rounder, gives great mpg on a run, sounds great with mppsk exhaust, practical and family friendly, cost peanuts to run. I keep getting drawn to a GTR or a Range Rover SVR. Obviously comparing apples to bathtubs, but thinking of getting something a bit more "hardcore". But given current prices, doesn't seem like a wise choice at the moment... |

I've had my 440i for almost three years and a sorely loved it. However I want something bigger now. I've been back and forth over the last 6 months looking at different options to change into. Personally, the F36 is just too low and impractical as a family car for us, And after 5 BMWs in the last 12 years, including 3 F generation cars I'm just a little bored.
Despite this, my BMW loyalty is still strong. I've tried relentlessly to get a decent deal on either a 540i touring or any of the X5's and the deals just seem to be getting worse. The 540i touring is out because the gulf between nee price and used 12-14 months old is staggering. You need a big brave pill for that IMO. I've also noticed that dealers are awful at getting back in touch, not sure if anyone else has had this experience? I pursued an X5 deal heard but to no avail, and used car prices are too strong at the moment. So with a heavy heart I'm moving on to Land Rover. I'm giving the big disco a try. Pound for pound you get way more kit than an X5, which is £15k more. The X5 drives more like a road car, but there's added luxury to the Disco, the new Pivi pro might just give I drive a run for its money and personally I think they're a touch more understated as Chelsea tractors go. In addition, the strong residuals for Land Rover give me more confidence than BMW at the moment. I may still be able to be part of this group, my wife is also getting a new car- either a 2GC (has to be snapper rocks blue) or there's an outside chance I can get her to buy mine. If I can convince her on the latter I'll be a happy man. If not, my beloved 440i GC will be hitting the market in September. To attest to everyone else- the 440i is an utterly brilliant car. Mine is completely unfettled, but I like it that way. I love the way they look like any other 4series to the untrained eye, so blends in when you want it to, but switch it to sport and it pops and burbles all over the place. I'll really miss that theatre. I'll miss the Jekyll and Hyde personality- from 40-50mpg in motorways (the latter with very careful driving), to 16mpg having a good hoon around and less careful driving. I'll miss the good looks of the 4GC; looking at the current range only the 8series stands out now as a really good looking car. So if anyone is on the fence about getting one. Get off the fence, put your hand in your pocket and get one bought. You won't regret it, and just like the rest of us, you'll struggle to replace it. Some pics of mine also attached. I don't get the "too low" argument unless you are 6ft 5 and need to sit on the rear seat

ah yes, guess you have to bend down. I find the interior space in the GC great - perfect balance between sleek looks and practicality

And I agree, there's nothing else like it. Maybe an A5... but I think the 4GC still beats it in looks.

BMW 440i GPF (68 plate)
Hi Folks,
I'm new here and recently bought this approved used 440i GC - coming from a 2016 330d xdrive with M Performance Exhaust. The 440i is a September 2018 build, so is a Euro 6 compliant model with the Gasoline Particulate Filter. This means no MPPSK available for it, which is damn shameful! I knew that from before buying it but couldn't find a slightly used one with comparable specs! I'm now looking for an exhaust / back box with a much louder note - the current stock GPF I have is relatively quiet! I came across this AC Schnitzer that is Euro 6 / GPF compatible https://shop.ac-schnitzer.co.uk/dual...rom-5038-p.asp My questions are: 1) Does anyone have any experience with this ACS exhaust? 2) Will my AUC warranty be affected if I put this on it? Look forward to your views! Thanks, Mourad |
