Hey every one,

my first post, here, I've searched in the forum a lot but no luck so far, hope you can help.

I damaged my F31 by trying to upgrade the AC controls panel from IHKA to IHKA3 controls.

Name:  IMG_7139.jpg
Views: 998
Size:  482.4 KB

initially the new panel worked partially, and it's display showed only the fan related part but couldn't control the temperature.

then I coded IHKA: KLIMA_SG_ART => ІНК_2Z, which didn't help.

then I found a post saying that if I swap the controls connector cables order :
KL30, KL31, LIN -> LIN, KL30, KL31
It would make the controller talk to IHKA.

but once I made the change and connected the controller, every thing went OFF :
* the horn not working
* head-lights controller don't control the head-lights anymore
* signals and wiper stalks don't work
* steering wheel controls don't work
* horn does not work
* radio and ac controls panel lights are off and don't work
* wipers are alway on
* and tins of error codes

also reading CAFD in e-sys is failing with timeout error

I'm lost and have no direction, checked all the fuses and nothing is blown, any help is much appreciated

Edit: I’ve already restored the original connector cables order, but still the same issue

I think you should look at the wiring diagrams first.
When you restore original pin order car is fine?

All the functions that have failed are FEM controlled arnt they? Can you see the FEM in ISTA or Esys?

Need to post your error codes from ISTA+ and your control tree. Will help to narrow down the problem...which now could be numerous issues like a blown fuse, bus (LIN, CAN) communications, ECU firmware corruption, etc.

Could try to Esys-code (not program) your IHKA with your factory FA. But, if the IHKA is not communicating with the rest of the car, you can't code it and can't see the CAFD either. So, check in ISTA and see if you can get the IHKA to respond as an ECU before going any further. Clear the codes while there.

When you tried to re-code with the factory FA your IHKA ECU, did the ECU coding option show? If yes, then your IHKA ECU is visible to the car.

Not sure what the generic "test failed" means. Can the car see that ECU? ISTA error codes would be more specific and helpful...now that there may be numerous unrelated or secondary domino-effect errors listed.

Until you get ISTA, could try to clear the errors with ESys using the "external transmitter", and run the the very bottom command (of the available commands).

I cleared the codes, but they keep coming back.

The errors list i get from regular obd scanner, so not sure what they mean by „test failed“

IHKA is not visible at all now

I’m working on getting ISTA but no luck yet, still trying to get a working link.

I suspect IHKA was blown because of the cables order, do you think disconnecting it will help with the FEM controlled modules?

Restore original pin order and plug back in. Check fuses. And test using esys if IHKA responds.

I’m working on getting ISTA but no luck yet, still trying to get a working link.

Go to the DIY coding forums and look for PSzData etc thread and ask Shawn there for ISTA.
