Help Deciding on New Exhaust (435i N55)

Hello Everyone!

I have a 2015 435i and im looking to change my exhaust. The current setup is a Catless DP and a Res delete. The car sounds loud, but I hate the tone and smell from the DP, especially with now being in CA. My plan is to put the cat back on, and get a new muffler. What suggestions do you guys have in the 1000-1300$ range?

I was looking into the M-Performance and Remus exhaust setups, but both dont sound super loud to me, anyone have experience or videos on which they prefer?

Thank You!

There are about three other threads below yours asking the same question, and about the same exhausts.

On my 2015 335i I switched from original exhaust to m-performance, no really big difference, still hard to hear something.
So I switched to catless, and now it's perfect. Not that much, not too loud.
The cat definitively cuts the sound.

catless makes HUGE difference night and day. doesnt rly matter what catback or axleback u put on. The catless downpipe is the limiting factor

I just put catless DP and Remus axleback on my 15 335i last weekend. Its relatively quiet in comfort mode with no rasp and sport mode sounds amazing. Very pleased.

REMUS catback is the best sounding setup in my opinion, i can help you get a great deal on it but it wont be under $1300.

Active Autowerke axle back is aggressive and very aggressively priced

Fabspeed and VRSF muffler deletes are good options as well

if i were you, i'd put that money towards a fabspeed cat. it'd get rid of any rasp and smell whilst maintaining catless like performance, just slightly less. if you cannot or don't want to afford fabspeed, ER and Wagner have more modestly priced offerings for about 2/3 the cost.

you can often find peeps selling used in the member classifieds for more savings.

if you have anything left over you could use that towards a remus or similar axle back to finish your exhaust off, later.

Did you ever hear the car with just the REMUS, if so how loud was it?

Not too loud, it gets you a deeper and more aggressive sound with only axle back but its still conservative with stock downpipe and mids.

Yes, Remus axleback with stock DP doesn't sound much different than stock and not worth it to me.

For best sound i would go stock DP + REMUS full exhaust or Catless + REMUS axle back
