JB4 works but the car will throw the code sometimes without actual loss in output.

Everything is connected except the flex fuel connector, actually didn't plug the female/male harnesses together on the JB4 (that's how i interpreted the installation lol)

When I check for codes via laptop, says there are none...and when I restart the car it goes away to only come back later.
Do you have auto code clear on?

I do not think I have that option Using this thread as reference Linky

I've only set it to map 1, LED max brightness and accidently touched the 3rd gear boost limiter (by the way, where is the default value on this?)

Also upgraded to latest firmware from that thread in the link right above.

'0 map menu, map shown on tach. Note map guide above.
'1 Not used for this model
'2 Boost gauge on fuel, boost is shown in the fuel gauge under heavy throttle with empty being 0psi boost and full being whatever you've assigned to your boost failsafe PSI on the user adjustment page. Default is 18psi. To enable this feature move the tach from 0 to 1.
'3 LED MAX brightness mode. For those with factory LED headlights this option brightens HALO during nighttime operation. To enable this feature move the tach from 0 to 1.
'4 OBDII Diagnostic Code Delete
'5 1st gear boost limit setting. 0-7000rpm = 0-20psi.
'6 2nd gear boost limiter
'7 3rd gear boost limiter[/HTML]

You're best off posting to the N54Tech support forum for technical help on what might be going on with the car and how to best resolve it.

The Code delete is Menu 4

It was a while ago, but I'm pretty sure it was just a boost leak in the charge pipe. If you're running a aftermarket ER chargepipe, I'd recommend loosening the middle clamp that connects the 2 pieces. Under hard boost when fully tightened it pulls off of the intercooler a little. So if that's the case, loosening it a little should help!

I was having similar issues with my vehicle. As crazy as it sounds, I took it into the dealership and after a software update on the vehicle it's been running without any issues. I would check to see if you need an update. Plenty of DIY videos for it if your dealership doesn't like aftermarket parts.

plus one for this course of action. They have always helped me. Also double check any wiring taps or connections in relation to the canbus or odbII. The are the most suspect to vibrating lose and will cause havoc if they do.

It's rare 2 people have the same problem. Post a JB4 log and faults to the n54tech support forum if you want someone from BMS to take a look at it.

+1.. Minus the flex fuel harness, mine is installed properly. Updated JB4 firmware from the F30 link. I think version 8a (PWG). Since then had this issue once, a bump at around 100 mph and 3000 rpm and shakey start. Honestly wish I knew what version it was shipped with originally because it was much better and stable.
