Hey, has anyone else experienced weeping brake nipples. The seats on the nipples seem fine, tempted to put some plumber tape on the threads. Any help or advice appreciated

These are 370mm brembos

I’ve recently had these installed, and brake fluid has been bled fully and all excess washed off a few times but the weeping keeping coming back :-(

Thanks guys

Wouldn`t bother with tape on the threads as fluid should not be getting past the point the taper on the nipple meets the caliper.

I would try new nipples and give the caliper seat a good inspection / clean before i did anything else.

Does the thread feel worn as if there is excessive play in the threads then maybe the nipple is not seating "square" in the caliper.

Thank you, just ordered a pair of HEL replacement bleed nipples and will give them a go if they arrive before the weekend and there’s no rain!

And the thread feels fine, no cross threading or looseness as such with a firm fit/seating. I’ll defo avoid the tape!

Once I remove the existing bleed nipple, and use the new one, will I need to rebleed the whole system at all?

Thanks again for the help

No , unless someone presses the brake pedal whilst you are doing the job.

When you have the nipple out clean the seat on the caliper with a cotton bud to remove any debris that maybe in the hole.

Be prepared for a little fluid loss and clean it up quickly as you dont want to spoil the paint on the calipers.
