335i drag racing

Hey guys I've been getting into drag racing a bit lately and I wanted to see what tips I could get to get a faster run.
I have a 2015 335i with catless downpipe, cts charge pipe, and running map 2 on JB4 with 3 gallons of e85 mixed with 93.
I'm wanting to know what I can do to get the fastest times on my set up. I'm gonna get an air intake and inter cooler when I save up a little more cash. Also I'm running firestone Indy 500 255/35/18 in rear and 245/35/18 in front.

Is your issue launching/spinning or what? If you are having traction issues, you can change your launch strategy, get better tires, and/or drop tire pressure a bit. I have found that the best launch if you are traction limited is to have your foot on the brake pretty firm (doesnt need to be to the floor like LC), floor it and about 0.5-1.5 seconds later release the brake. You dont want to actually hold the car back with the brake, you just want to prevent the car from rolling while you stall on the converter up to about 1200-1500 rpm and release the brake immediately once you are there.

In terms of mods, i would definitely get the IC although that may not provide a huge benefit from a single run assuming your IC is not already heat soaked when you start the run. You can also ditch the JB4 and get a flash.

My issue is traction I will try that kind of launch. What about a roll? Like 25/45 what's the best way to launch from that.

If you are stock turbo you dont really need to brake boost since the spool is so instantanous. Just make sure you are in the correct gear for the roll.

lol i hadnt read ypur reply but honestly it wouldnt surprise me if he had the manual and was still trying to brake boost.

the key from a roll is to be in the gesr that you want to start from and not have the trans downshift.

It's 8sp auto trans
easiest way then for 1/4 mile

sport+ with trans in sport mode... use launch control and shift about 6500ish.

from a roll, same settings and manual downshift to the gesr you want/need before going. ive lost to guys by letting the trans downshift on its own who i had no business losing to because i had to play catch up.

do you have a trans flash? you absolutely need one to remove the tq limiters.

I think he is definitely going to spin too much using LC with indy 500 255s. Thats why i proposed the alternative launch method. LC will be faster only if you have the traction for it.

Agree shifting a little before redline. I am not sure if he would need trans flash with a JB4? Due to the way the JB4 works, wouldn't the DME think the torque was within limits? Of course he could still benefit from the shift times, etc.
