Touring fans, let's see some ...
Touring fans on here, and I know there are a lot! Let's see just how good a BMW 3er Touring can get. Also what is it you love about them, seems a high ratio of 340i routings here (probably all of the uk cars!!) is the handling really not that compromised in them?

If it helps, I hated mine...
No doubt a 40i engine would have been massively better but the road and engine noise in the 20d was fcuking horrendous.

Here's mine which is off to its new owner in a weeks time.
Great car he's getting too! I do love tourers but on reflection they're the only daily drivers I've ever modified significantly, this one and my E46 330d tourer, so it does make me question this idea that they're not compromised handling wise compared to a saloon or coupe.

Looks are subjective - but for me I’ve always found Tourings to be the best looking in the range. Same applies to Audi & Merc. The new C63s - yes please!!
Anyway, here’s mine. Also a shot of my previous E91 Touring too. Both have/had subtle mods.. |

ETTO but I really like the look and abilities of fast estates.
The Touring has a much better load space and, with some mods, can look great and hustle well. RWD preferred. Here are some shots of mine when it was clean.

Like R99 I have had an E91 and now have an F31.....
No they are not sports cars but then they are not designed to be. A few handling mods and they are a great practical daily driver. I had an E93 and they both handled better than that even pre modifications. |

The F31 is the best looking touring / Hearse around.
The xdrive however is let down by those awful springs. This is something BMW need to get a grip on with next model. In comparison the R Hearse which is by no means pretty, beats the F31 hands down on handling. I really hope BMW get a 340i xdrive with well thought out suspension and handling. Sorting that would make it pretty much the perfect Hearse, big petrol engine, AWD, high bhp and able to handle trips to beach, forests, hills etc all year round irrespective of the weather. |

I'm quite happy with the handling on my xDrive. I don't plan on throwing it around corners like a boy racer and I've found it competent enough for my needs when I have had to push on. As I would imagine it would be for 95% of touring owners.

2 kids, 7 and 4. Gc suits me fine. Much better than the 3 series for load access.

Really really easy. Big boot lid lifts out of the way, then drop in the golf bag or whatever. Much better than the saloon.

Loved my Tourings when I had them. A 320d in EB was my first BMW and will always be special. That got replaced by my 335d. Loved the performance on that. For my needs I found the handling ok although if I'd had it for more than a year I might have got the suspension tweaked.

You must be a tall person if you find the boot lid gets in the way on a touring! In all fairness Im the opposite, as a cyclist and occasional fisherman, the shape and length of the touring boot suits my needs.
