New Product Sneak Peak - CTS Turbo N55 EWG Turbo

Just wanted to share some pics and info and this new turbo available soon.. ONLY for EWG cars (2014+ N55)

DESCRIPTION
We are proud to announce the release of our premium ball-bearing turbo kit with stainless steel exhaust housing for the F2x and F3x BMW platforms equipped with N55 EWG engine

We utilized transient flow analysis backed by flow bench testing to optimize turbine housing for a GTX3582R while maintaining stock fitment, stock location, and using the stock waste gate (this is not a stock turbo with a bigger compressor wheel). This allows to run any stock fitment exhaust downpipe, intake and charge pipe.

The result is a factory-location big turbo that is capable of producing over 800hp with supporting mods. You can simply transfer your factory wastegate, your high performance downpipe, intake and charge pipe during the install. No custom parts are needed!

Product Details:

Complete brand new turbocharger; no need for core to be sent it or purchased
GTX3582R-style Gen2 ceramic ball-bearing CHRA (dual ball-bearing)
Billet 11 blade compressor wheel
Proprietary stainless steel turbine housing, flow matched to the turbocharger
VSR Balanced to exceed OE tolerances
Oil and water fittings included
Compatible with factory installation hardware (not included)
Compatible with factory wastegate actuator (not included, use your original wastegate actuator)
Application guide

F30 BMW 335i & 335xi Production date after 07/2013
F20/F21 BMW M135i & M135xi Production date after 07/2013

I don't know anything about this dyno, but it looks like it spools slower than PS2 and doesn't make as much? Hard pass.

Dyno dynamics dyno - unless it's in shootout mode, it will read less than a dynojet, around 8-10%

I like the concept, but I'd rather see a 3076.

Even better (at least to me) would be a G25-660 option - quicker spool than other options with pretty decent flow up top.

I’ve seen the graphs posted in another thread of the stock dyno of 290whp. That’s a ‘dyno jet’ number, so these may have been in ‘shootout mode’

We actually need a dynojet number from this turbo kit, as 429whp on 94oct makes no sense to me, if it's 8-10% off, then it should be making around 460whp or so.

It looks promising, and I would get it to replace my PS2, but I need more information, and I need them to make a PWG version

Judging by that dyno I would say this has a choke point just like all the Chinese turbos. I emailed CTS, and they refused to remove the one bolt/nut to show the manifold to turbo connection.

NEVER have I seen a N55 tap out it's injectors in the mid 400whp range regardless of the type of pump fuel (91, 92, 93, e85). Now with canned (M1 or M5) fuel I can see it happen.

Is the turbine housing still a twin scroll design, or is it single scroll? This could easily be made to fit a PWG car with an EWG downpipe swap and possibly a little fabrication, depending on the model variances.

I agree with n55david, you really don't want this turbo lol, if you check out their dyno sheets, they somehow ran out of injector which is the first time I've ever heard of under 700whp

No, I don't want this, but it's fairly innovative and potentially adaptable. Perhaps just not an optimized design. Your average PS2 dyno chart puts that one to shame. They shouldn't have even published those charts for that turbo.

Idk who did the advertising, but they really screwed up somewhere, the tuner they used was really bad, and I'm not sure which platform they used as well.

I would agree to an extent.

I think the manifold can be made to flow better, but I believe the real trouble lies within the turbine housing.

I'm not certain that can be fixed.

A few of us did some digging and found the dyno kinda sus.

Almost 600whp on E55 is unheard of, normally that kind of power comes from full E85 and/or meth kit with PI.

Not to mention, noone knows how much power it would be without normal EU5/EU6 (non S63 injectors.)

Having trouble believing 490hp on pump gas. The octane just isnt there for that kind of number.

No it's doable with a lot of boost and no timing.. just not common.

The block is not the same though. The N55 block is open deck, the S55 is closed deck. That is the big downer with this engine. The cylinder bores are unsupported at the top.

You could easily fill the open part and leave a channel for coolant like the honda guys do.
