I have a 440ix F33. Absolutely love the car. Just got back from a drive up the mountain to the Blue Ridge Parkway.
I also had a 330 F33 and did not really like the 4 cylinder. The terrain where I live has a lot of hills and the 2.0 liter just did not have the torque and acceleration I wanted but was fine on the interstate highways. |

Ok, this thread is turning into a 4 series show off (which I don't mind), so here's mine:
Here's why I went with the 4 series, as a daily commuter car, it's more spacious, comfortable and luxurious than a 2 series, it handles better than a 3 series in the corners, and to me, it just looks the best out of the bunch, no competition. If you have rear passengers, get the GC, if you don't, get the coupe. Job's done.

I went with a 3 Series because it is more practical. I can't put my golf clubs in the trunk but I can put them in the back seat. The 4 Series is just too big and not as sporty. The 3 Series is one of the best looking models out there right now, especially in M Sport. 4 Series is one of the ugliest models out there right now, especially grand coupe.

Let's ignore the part mentioning 3 series looking better, what's more important is addressing him thinking/saying "4 series is one of the ugliest cars out there" Last edited by thatBimmerBloke; 10-13-2019 at 09:58 PM.. |

The 4 is the best looking (non-M) BMW currently in production - beautifully proportioned, with a low CoG

The 4 series looks amazing!
A few months ago I picked up a 2017 440i xDrive convertible with the sport package. A decade ago I had a 335i and loved it, but sold it to get something more practical to shuttle the kid and stuff around. Well, that was a Toyota Rav 4 and it got rear ended and totaled. So back to the BMW! I looked at the 2 series and it would have been big enough but it lacked two things I wanted. First, the convertible was soft top only. Second, the 4 series back seat allows me to fold down the back part, which is important if you're making a road trip with the top down. Plus I think the 4 series sport looks nicer and is probably better for road trips. This is my daily driver, so living in the north east where it snows, AWD is a must. If it was a toy car the 2 may have been a better choice. Mine is mineral grey with the red leather interior. I just tried to post pics but I don't have a hosting service. Likes (okay, loves) and dislikes: Looks amazing. Love the B58 engine! Put it in Sport+ and wind it up tight with the paddle shifters and before you realize it, you're past 115. So that's 320HP and I'm looking at a tune to take it to 390. With the top up there is plenty of room in the trunk, and really, there is a good bit with the top down as well. Love the gadgets, especially the HUD! The nav is actually much better than expected, and the HUD integration is great. The HK audio sounds great. Wireless phone charger in the console is nice, although it does take away access to the phone. But it's good not to have my phone flying all over the car as I drive. Almost every feature I want in a car, except adaptive cruise control and lane keeping, is in the car. Dislikes: The big one: After about six weeks, I'm still struggling to get the driver seat adjusted so I'm comfortable. After a long ride, my back is hurting and I don't have back issues. It seems there is a hollow right behind my lower back. The lumbar support and such is higher, and when I inflate that stuff it just makes that hollow seem deeper. There is some road noise, it could be a little more quiet. But it's not as bad as that RAV 4 was! Not a 4 specific issue, but the NBT takes over the phone sounds and refuses to notify me that a text has come in. I'm still trying to figure out how to deal with this. BMW charges for carplay! Seriously! BMW also charges fairly big money for their version of adaptive cruise control and lane keeping. These features are now standard in $21,000 Toyotas and Hondas. And those work well! No remote start on the phone app. In fact, the phone app should allow me to raise and lower windows and the top. |

As for looks I think the 4 shades it over the 3 but I agree its subjective. Hardly a deal breaker though. |

4er too big? Don't think so....Just 1/2" in width & length. From Paul tan.org website review of the 4GC. "Comparatively, the F30 3 Series measures in at 4,624 mm long (-14 mm), 1,811 mm wide (-14 mm) and 1,429 mm tall (+40 mm), sitting on the same 2,810 mm wheelbase." Oh and where looks are concerned, an eye test might be in order |

2016 435i GC after owning a 2012 335i I can safely say that the 4 series has been a great transition. It is lower and wider than my previous 3 series and extremely versatile. When I consider what my next car will be, I keep coming back to the 4 series GC.
It just ticks all the boxes, sporty, great on long rides and handles extremely well. With some minor upgrades like a bike rack, winter OEM wheels and switching the brushed metal interior with the anthracite dash to give it a more racing look inside, I couldn't be happier with this vehicle. I always think of adding more power but in all honesty, anything more than I already had win this vehicle would be a waste, I'm already much faster than most folks on the road and with traffic the way it is, more power would never be used to it's potential. |

I own 2015 435i Grand coupe
Positives, 1- Fun to drive - will be much more fun with the M exhaust or other exhaust mods. 2- Very nice handling. 3- Very fast car for the 435i 4- Great MPG comparing to other vehicles. 5- of course very nice looking. Negatives, 1- uncomfortable seats. 2- very stiff / uncomfortable suspension. 3- Too much road noise. Mine has 19" wheels. 4- interior quality is not the best. If you have the extra money I would highly recommend the 430i or 440i depends on which engine you are looking for. 2017 and above - they fixed most of the negatives points above. That's my opinion. Thanks, |

Both are nice But the 3 series is old for this generation. It's since 2012. 4 series started from 2014 and the design of this car is great and much nicer than c300, a4 and a5 also. It's wide and sporty design, it looks big from outside. |
